Cooking for my babies

Our grandson is flying in from Maine tomorrow and we're picking up his little girl to meet him at the airport with us.
Our son and his son Nathan will come over on Saturday for a big dinner I'm planning to cook. Got the chocolate pies made and the deviled eggs are in the fridge.
Can't wait to see Josh. He's 24 and recently converted to Catholicism. We're very proud of him, even though he's had some struggles.
We had hoped to have all the kids hete this weekend, but our daughter is having her surgery tomorrow. Please say a prayer for her. She's so disappointed she won't get to see Josh...he has to fly back on Sunday.
Anyway, I love cooking for my kids. Do you have plans for the Memorial Day weekend?

We're in eastern NC, so come on before the eggs and pie are gone! I'm planning a roast beef for Saturday with broccoli and cheese sauce, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried corn bread, and sweet tea to go with the chocolate pies and deviled eggs.

No special plans, my birthday is Sunday but my son in law is in the hospital so it is sort of like everything is on standby until we know what is going on with him, His name is John and please keep his in your prayers. I can imagine how excited you are to see your grandson, the family is everything. I hope his becoming a Catholic isn't too shocking, I know your husband is a preacher, We are Catholics and we share your values I am sure. I will certainly say a prayer for your daughter.

Thank you so much for your prayers and I will definitely be praying for your son in law too. Our daughter's surgery starts in about an hour (11am EST). We've always been Pentecostal, although we've been in the Methodist Church for about 14 years now. But we're happy that Josh is Catholic, I know there are a few differences, but the important thing is to love Jesus and he does. Hope you get good news about your son in law and can have a happy birthday Sunday.

What a nice way to celebrate this weekend with family.
Prayers for your daughter and that her surgery goes well and a speedy recovery.
I don't have any specific plans for the weekend other than my son coming on Sat to paint my daughters room. I'm sure we'll throw something on the bbq.

Thanks for the prayers, Carol. I know we'll enjoy having a few of the kids here, but I'll feel better when our daughter's surgery is over.
