Abortion in my country: a law badly read by a mylotter.

There is a lotter here who has written a post against abortion. Some of us agree, some of us partially agree and some of us don´t. But then, after an answer (or 2) from my side, he (she) wrote that we had abortion on demand in my country. I do not like to answer freely, so I went to read the laws. And that is not true. There is no penalty if a) the life of the mother is at stake b)if the fetus will be stillborn and c) if pregnancy is the result of a rape. I would not call this "on demand" exactly. Except if we mean that a woman shows (demands) that she wants an abortion for any of those reasons. Still, doctors can say no to it. She has to find a doctor who will accept it. Sometimes, people don´t read well. And then the conclusions are not good either.

Many people go to conclusions first without understanding the content and context.

Just like here. Many people read the title but not the content so they often come up with bizarre answers.

When someone doesnt read the entire thing and doesnt comprehend correctly, he comes up with a wrong judgment.

It's easy to misunderstand things, especially if you're not used to the language you read or heard. That's why we should always be careful about the things we say or write. I hope that a certain person learned a lesson or two.

There are people who do exactly what they do here, they read the title of the news and they pretend they know everything and they spread fake news.

@LadyDuck I know. BTW, in this case it was a misunderstanding and we made our peace. It was very nice, in fact.

Some people do that in every post, I guess to earn more. I don´t bother with giving them likes. But this is another case.

Well some people already have an idea of what they think is right or wrong and they don't even bother to look to confirm what they think.

Still, we do not have the right to say that this or that country is pro or against abortion if we haven´t read the country´s laws.

@Bensen32 I mean, you should not talk about another country´s laws if you haven´t read them. Neither, should you talk about your country´s laws for that matter if you have not read them.

@marguicha Well in our country they do have a right to say what they want, even if they are wrong and uneducated.

I know some people read a title and write a reply. Of course some doctors will say no if they don't agree with abortion. Other doctors might be willing to say yes. Is there a time limit in your home country? Here in my home country the limit is 24 weeks. That is because premature babies born at 24 weeks pregnancy with excellent medical care can survive.

@marguicha I think some countries in Europe like France allow it up to 12 weeks. Irish ladies come over to England to get an abortion.

There is a time limit, but I don´t know it. I think that it is less than 24 weeks.

And my country´s laws (as any law in any country) does not mean that everyone think it is right. But they have to obey it until it is changed one way or the other.

I am living in a conservative country. The local people were influenced by the Roman Catholic's doctrines. Thus, most of the local people will not be in favor of abortion.

This is an issue that is very divisive, my opinion is that a woman does have reproductive rights, she has the right not to get pregnant. Once another life is involved her rights are secondary except in rare instances. But while this is my belief I usually don't argue about it, why? We will never change anyone else's mind and in the end, God knows that is in their heart.

Still, whatever our own belief, it is not fair to say what happens in another country without having read well about it.

People can debate about abortion left and right. But if they get rid of that what was growing inside, regardless of the reason, they will answer to God on their passing.

Mostly, my post was about reading well before answering. The lotter told e that there was abortion on demand in my country and it is not so.

I am not good on this topic at all because I hate it when perfectly healthy women get abortions just because they made a mistake. I am the unfortunate one to have had one stillbirth and one spontaneous loss and never had any children so it is a touchy subject for me.

In my country the laws for abortion don´t apply to healthy women who want less children. I can understand what you feel.
