Shine on you Crazy Diamond was recorded in the first half of 1975 and released in September of 1975. The song is a tribute and remembrance to former band member Syd Barrett. Syd was a founding member of the band but was ousted from the band in 1968 due to his drug use and mental health issues.
The full-length parts I-IX is 26 minutes long. There are many different versions of the song have been released and used in concerts. The one I link here is the Official Music Video for the song and comes in at 13 minutes 22 seconds.
