Now I will have to buy all the ingredients. For a long time, every time I go to a Peruvian restaurant, the first thing I ask is octopus with olive sauce. It is delicious! Today, as I was cleaning up my mail, I discovered one of those recipes I send to myself. Yes it was! Octopus in olive sauce!!! Octopus is not something you have around as you have a chicken thigh. And the olives are special olives that are black and bitter. Fortunately we have them as they are grown in the northern part of Chile ( in the frontier with Perú). I will try to find the ingredients. But meanwhile, on Tuesday I have a doctor´s appointment after lunch. So we are going to have lunch with Claudia at a wonderful and not so expensive Peruvian restaurant near her house. I´ll order that, of course

Sound like an interesting meal. I love all kinds of olives but have never had an octopus.

Octopus is delicious. The only important thing is to cook until soft.

I bought two frozen octopus in Italy last Friday, I am going to prepare them tomorrow. The important is to let them cool in the water where they have boiled to have them perfectly soft.

@LadyDuck It is so delicious! But after I ate the Peruvian olive sauce, I thought that was exactly it. Check it online.

@marguicha I cut in pieces, season with olive oil, crushed garlic and chopped parsley and I serve over cut steamed potatoes.

Probably they will have it in Peruvian restaurants. They are similar (but better) than calamari.

They are close cousins so they must taste the same.

I haven't tasted octopus or anything similar. I hope it doesn't taste like crabs.
