As people know me here that I try to become Jack of all trades and I indulge in repairing my household items which I may not be successful every time at!
Yesterday, I called a Air Conditioner's mechanic for the service and got all my three window ACs serviced.
Having serviced the ACs he refitted them at the respective places and sked as to start them only after one hour so that the ACs will get dried within this time!
I have started the ACs as per instructions after one hour and found that one of the three ACs was not working. The display was showing an error.
When contacted him on the phone and told about the problem he asked me to open the AC and connect the lead of sensor which must have been disconnected, since he knew that I am good at doing such things!
I followed his instructions and opened the AC and connected the disconnected lead with PCB , which of course took some time for me but at the end the results were positive!
The AC was fitted in our bed room , with this successful attempt of mine my wife was very happy and she expressed it openly!
So this is the way I am still try to be young in my life by fighting with the day to day problems I face in my routine life!
How about you? Anything like this happened with you in the recent past!

I am really bad at these things. But my husband is very good with it. We don't need a plumber, carpenter or electrician till it's a real big issue or he is not there. Everyone around him know of his passion and many have gifted him with all sophisticated tools. He feels offended when we call someone to fix a problem. Carpentery is his stress burster.

i'm guessing you are only forced to call someone when he's away on business but something really needs to be repaired already.

@hereandthere Yes. That is the case. We all call him "Tool Man". Now my elder daughter is picking up the same thing and she is quite helpful for simple repairs.

Hahah wow... I laughed at it truly that even the mechanic asked you to do it yourself lol.. He knows you well.
And ofcourse your wife must be happy as she got a superMan life partner.
I learnt to repair my scooter.. kinetic.. When it was giving a problem.. Every time it gave problem, I'd open a screw from front and repair it...
My brother is like you.
He opened my video games when we were little.. And even my mobile phone too because the keypad was making noise to chat haha year 2005 I think... Or so...
So many mischief

Oh that is great! I am not good at such things. If I attempt, it is mostly a small blunder.
But yes, I have tried a few things with bulbs and tube lights.

I am glad your wife expressed her appreciation for your diligence at fixing the air conditioner! We may not do much, but when we do something we like others to notice and appreciate it! *grinning at you*
Yes, I had to re-attach the electric cable to our kitchen stove. A friend moved it so Pretty could clean under it. When he moved the stove back into place the cord was not attached correctly so would not work.
I teased him that I should charge him for fixing the stove after he broke it.

Yes, you are right! I think that is bare minimum we can expect from our family mambers as wev fixing up the things which are beyond our scope and proving ourselves heroes , No?
So when are you ging to fix that stove? I tink it shouldn't take mucj of time to fix it! By the way is your daughter inteested in all these sort of things?

@AKRao24 Yes, we are heroes, even when our family think it is just our job to fix things.
I fixed the stove cable right then and didn't wait.
No, Pretty isn't interested in fixing anything.
A few days ago she brought one of her laptops to me because there were ants inside it. I opened the laptop, vacuumed out the ants and the bits of food she'd dropped into it and suggested she use the plastic cover I bought that keeps food out of it.
She thanked me for "fixing" her laptop, but wasn't happy with me for suggesting she use the plastic cover. *shrug* I will be satisfied if she doesn't have ants in any more of her laptops!

Not really! I was interested in attempting such jobs since I was a student, but today since I am staying on a farm and to get mechanics on the farm becomes a tough job as it is far away from the township , this hobby of mine comes in as a handy thing to solve my day to day petty problems dear friend!

I like your perspective and positive outlook in life. I'm glad that your ac is now ship-shape and cools--you've got a very happy wife.
Last week, my dear hubby fixed our central heating from the ceiling. We didn't have to pay, $450 to a maintenance man to do it. Yey!
