2019 Health Journey -- Day 151 (May 31st)

Hey everyone, the day started out good....but went downhill from there (health wise/sticking to the diet wise). My fasting sugar was 125, I was pleased with that after having carbs again yesterday. My weight also was okay as I was not up on the scale. I didn't lose any either, but that is better than gaining while not sticking to the plan as I should. My first meal today I did stick to the low carb plan. I had tuna mixed with mayo & no sugar added ketchup. I put in some cheese too. After that, I had some "dessert" or one of the last sugar free peanut butter candies I made. Blood sugar after this meal was 96. Then....for dinner I planned to just have a bunless burger and a side of pepperoni chips. Well....I didn't have the pepperoni, and I added a bun. When the burgers are grilled, I prefer having a bun...I know I need to just eat it without though. Well, my husband wanted to go out for dinner...as we sometimes do on a Friday night....we went to a place called "Henry's" and I had finger steaks and a handful of fries. It was good, of course....their finger steaks are the best. So.....didn't end the day so well food wise. The taste was great though! How did YOU all do today with food? Photo is mine....that was the "Finger steak basket" meal I ordered.

@MommyOfEli2013 yes because i cut my sugar consumption, i crave more for it.

@Janet357 That should stop the cravings if you cut the sugar out....but maybe not for everyone

I try to not have too many....but sometimes I will have one once a week, sometimes more than that but I need to stop

Thank you, that's why I am sharing even the days I don't stick to my diet. And yes....taste is very important! I definitely agree

You need to be careful with the carbs. I know a diabetic who didn't take her condition seriously and she now (in her 40s) has lost both legs below the knees and is on dialysis.

I know, that is why I try to stick to low carb as much as I can....just not always an easy thing to do. I should probably stop being so stubborn about it though. That's young to be on dialysis and to have lost both legs! I'm sorry to hear that

Today was diet day; so I had 2 yogurts = 180 calories, 2 protein bars = 400 calories and 1-1/2 pb&j sandwich = ? I know I was well within 1,500 calories, maybe even close to 1,000 calories. Today I can have some chicken nuggets and a baked potato. Then tomorrow I go back on the yogurt and protein bars.

@MommyOfEli2013 It was gooooood! We were out of sour cream so I had Ranch dressing which was good. As far as the PB goes, we use lowfat.

@LindaOHio That's good to hear! Oh ranch is good on baked potatoes too, I've done that before. Oh wow, I use nothing low fat on my diet haha....mostly because they usually add carbs when they are taking out fat.

Sounds closer to 1,000 depending on the bread and PB used....but sounds like some good foods. Hope you enjoy your chicken nuggets and baked potato today!

Been eating alot lately. I am targetting to gain weight so whatever is there I definitely eat it. I know that I should look into how healthy the food is than eating it all at once without the guilt.

Well, I wish I had to gain weight over having to lose it...but that can be difficult too.
