The good,The bad, and the Humid

So today was ghastly hot here. yes that wet heat that makes people like me gasp for every breath. Worse since I started this awful sweating and chilling even back when it was cold out still. One good thing, daughter did bring me back home from her work at WAWA a delicious tuna sandwich on hoagie bun. I could only eat part though cause my stomach started saying no. I saw that Black Mirror is coming back on TV tomorrow on Netflix and I wasn't too fond of that but daughter had raved about how she liked it last season. Which I think she is getting alzheimer's at an early age of 45 yrs, because when I told about it, she said she didn't watch it and I know she did. Don't know what that was about with her. Anyway so is The Handmaid's Tale coming back on Hulu tomorrow. So heads up for people that liked that. I loved it and will likely binge watch. Blackish is also back on Freeform and I hope Hulu, so I am having lots to watch Sometimes my daughter don't seem to understand my COPD at all. and sometimes she does. Like today, my room is directly across from the bathroom just a few steps. I suddenly smelled chlorine and said wow we must have a lot of that in our water and she said no she had sprayed ants with it in there and I told her she needed to close the door and open the window a bit to get the smell out. I also told her there were better less toxic ways and she said she had tried all those and they didn't work. She got so annoyed with me ! I sure do wish we could afford another dehumidifier. My little one quit working again. I don't think I will survive a year in this house. I felt so bad for a guy on FB market place buy and sell. He said would who ever bought his storage locker please let him buy back the Christmas stuff as his wifes hand made things were in it and his sons special ones in it. Some nasty guy on there said, Well you should have paid your bill. Then another person said how cruel it was to say that to someone who couldn't pay at the time because his wife was dying with bone cancer. Just when you think people can not get any worse. but then some are so understanding. I guess it takes all kinds. thats it today folks . Hope you are having a better evening then I.

I really did like The Handmaid's Tale. It is one of the thing Hubby and I watch together. If I bought a storage locker, I would sure give back some handmade Christmas things. Well, I would never buy a storage locker.

@bunnybon7 I just wouldn't enjoy sorting through it and deciding what to do with stuff. I don't enjoy trying to sell or organize stuff. That is why I wouldn't buy one. Did you get anything good?

@paigea back then I loved it. I was able to sort through and lots was good I wanted to keep but most we sold at flea market getting back twice or more of our money. found tons of wonderful books to read and pretty vintage clothes and jewelry. a wedding dress once that was beautiful but was already married so sold it

Let me see if I can remember to respond to all you said. I'll start with the last part. I think that the man who made that comment is very disrespectful and I certainly hope nothing like that ever happens to him. I really hope that man finds the person who bought his storage locker and will let him buy back those things. If I was the person, I would tell him to take them back if I still had them. Hmm... It's gotten cooler here (for which I am grateful). I am not sure what the extended forecast has to say but we shall see I guess. I think you and I have talked about the smell of bleach. I can't stand it, it's too overpowering and burns my lungs. Of course a lot of cleaners do that. I still use bleach but I always spray and go. I need to find a cleaner that's effective and non toxic like bleach is. I stopped watching Handmaid's Tale and got rid of Hulu. I don't watch much television myself.

For disinfecting use peroxide, in a spray bottle. No smell, does not usually damage fabric (can do a spot test), removes blood and body fluids.Pour it on cutting boards and rinse.I like it much better than bleach, but darn, it does not kill poison ivy.

I have never bought anyone's storage locker and never will I don't think. It is the same reason I won't buy anything from a pawn shop, it's like taking advantage of someone who is down and out. Just my personal feelings.

Never thought of it that way. Maybe that is why I have come to my predicament now. God teaching me a lesson.

@bunnybon7 NO, God doesn't operate like that, now Karma maybe but not God lol You are one of the sweetest people I know, no God loves you to bits I am sure. Excuse me but "sheet happens" and sometimes we just make bad decisions and then we have to live with the results for years to come.

i feel fer ya'n that bleach crap. such makes me violently ill 'n i've not copd. any chemical smells'll turn me green'n send me runnin'. still cannot tolerate e'en bein' 't a gas station to put my own fuel'n. which i reckon aint too big a deal since such's 'nly needed 'bout e'ery 6 months 'r so 'nless the hubs takes my auto. i dunno why yer daughter's not replaced yer dehumidifier?? i'd broke my neck to fetch ya one. i jest priced 'em 'n such'd not be too bad ('nder $60) fer one a good size fer yer bedroom. some folks're jest ugly 'n i feel fer that fella who lost those items. hot here today 'n very humid, too. been pourin' rain off/on the past couple hours. gonna need hip waders to feed'n the morn...'n possibly some fer the critters...'n snorkels..

aaww! poor critters and you too. Yes, I have no idea why my daughter can not be more thoughtful of me. I did originally come to live with her but if not for me she would have been on the street by now several times. Don't know why she don't consider that. More like shes living with me these days. Can't change how it is though. We have to live with what we can survive with. hope you get nice weather soon.

So far here in NC it has been hot but not nearly as humid as it normally is. However, the next 3 or 4 days we are expecting rain and with it will come the humidity. I will be in the same boat as you. I hope you feel better.

thanks. strange thing is it hasn't really rained as much lately so I don't understand where it's all coming from unless it is bacause this house is so small and closed in that nothing really dries out when showers are taken and dishes washed, and cleaning etc.

The hot weather has returned here in Daytona Beach as well. I have my A/C at a comfortable temp in my front room and it makes my little apartment all cool and comfy and even reached the kitchen. When this begins I leave it on most of the time. If you need a new dehumidifier there are small ones available on Amazon and one I saw at $25.

well my problem is that I have gotten so very far behind on this move and the awful state this house is in that I may or may not be able to buy another dehumidifier Might try and order one when I get paid around the 19 th this month

I do not watch anything. Ants are repelled by mint. I put mint essential oil in distilled water and spray it. Diatomaceous earth will kill them. You would have to keep it down away from where you breathe, though. Like around the outside of the doors and windows. It does not smell but it is hard on the lungs if you inhale it.
