When does summer begin for you?

Officially summer begins on June 21 in Canada according to the the calendar. As far as I'm concerned summer begins the day I can go out in my shorts.
Today was the day. It was warm enough to wear my shorts outdoors. What a beautiful day for walking, cycling and for going to the park.

Yes, that's true but I don't know where everyone lives. Is there anything that says summer to you even though it has not officially arrived?

Yes, summer officially started today but we have already had many days where it was hot. Summer starts for me on the first day when I can go out with a short-sleeved shirt and short pants.

Summer starts in April for us haha As soon as it hits 90 degrees, we are done, we are ready for the oven. Though, we had a break this year since May was pretty cool. This week was our first week of feeling like we are on fire and it will only get worse.

@1hopefulman Summer is very very hot here haha I never had a favorite summer activity unless you count sitting in front of a fan and taking a nap an activity then that is about as much as anyone can do because it is so hot.

I love summer. It is sunny all day long and I can sit on my porch and enjoy it and do not have to put layers of clothes and jackets on. Yes, I am very happy with it.

@buenavida Summer solstice is on 21 of June, but as we live on the border of two time zones, and have to consider the daylight time, it could be tricky to count when the sun is at the highest point.. I will write about it later.. But we are past midnight, and the sun is up now.. it is about +5C

I think I really feel like it's summer when I can finally put away my long pants and jackets and wear just t-shirts and shorts. Usually by the middle to 3rd week of June seems to be that time. I also know it's summer by the extra traffic on weekends.

Most days are bearable but we get a few days where they are sauna weather and at times a few people die from the heat.
