This story is kind of different in the recent stories that I have shared on this site recently since it is usually a stranger that calls the authorities to report a child or animal that is trapped inside an auto that is locked up by someone who claims they forgot to check on the welfare of their loved one.
On Thursday a Gilroy California mom had the misfortune of having her keys inside her auto during the afternoon hours just after 12 o' clock local time with her four month old son named Oscar inside the auto.
The mom whose name was not released called the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office to send a deputy to the scene of the incident to see if the deputy could rescue her son.
Officer Jennifer Galan received permission from the mom to break open the window using a device so she could reach inside and save Oscar from death via heat stroke.
Oscar was rescued by Officer Galan. He is safe and sound thanks to the actions of his mother to call the police quickly.
Officer Galan the next day brought some gifts for Oscar and his siblings as a way of showing her compassion as a law enforcement officer who has taken an oath to serve and protect her community.

Oh wow, what a great officer! And that's good that it wasn't a story of someone reporting that the child was trapped in a car!

What I have noticed is that most of these stories are of dads who usually forget to take their children out of autos. At least the mom of Oscar was alert enough to send for help to rescue her child since she did leave her car keys inside her auto by accident.

@Deepizzaguy Yeah....that seems to usually be the case....but this time it was an accident and she called and got it taken care of!

It sure beats hearing the horror stories from the Weather Channel of fatalities of children inside of hot autos.

You have a wonderful point since it beats being fed bad news from the news stations as well as the Weather Channel.

Oh wow, I’m so happy that the mom called for helped and that the officer did what she was trained to do in this situation. A happy end for everyone.
