Archery Cancelled!

United Kingdom

Yesterday, I was looking forward to the second week of archery course. Sadly, the weather had other ideas. Visibility was an issue as it was tipping it down, and a slippery field plus sharp arrows is not a very good mix. The teachers said they wouldn't be able to teach us what was planned. Of course, I was disappointed but I did have a few other things I could do. I was going to get some writing done but decided to make the most of spending extra time with my boys. As it happened, I bumped into Mini's best friend as she was in town with her mum as I got off the bus. Mini had planned to go round hers after school but they were busy. I asked Friend if she wanted to come round to ours for a bit. She did. I spent the evening playing. Mini and Friend played on the Wii while Midi and I played backgammon. Then we played Midi's favourite board game, Betrayal at House on the Hill. I thought Friend would like it, and I was right. We also listened to various music. After playing the board game, we all played Telly Addicts on the Wii before Midi and I walked Friend home. The evening may not have been as planned nor was it particularly productive. It was, however, enjoyable. I got to spend some quality time with my boys, and Mini got to spend time with his best friend. Other than that, work has been pretty boring. I had a job interview for a different position in the same place. I didn't get the job but I've applied for a couple of others. It's OK where I am but it does get boring, and I feel the need to move on. The weekend was spent sorting paperwork and watching 'Dexter'. The highlight of the weekend, though, was face-timing with C and the babies. They are on holiday at the moment. They are at a holiday park that's not too far from where they live. Baby1 told us where she was going but she was more interested in watching TV than talking to us! Baby2 was being cheeky, hiding under her blanket. I thought it was just a shy thing because she didn't know us but, this time, I think she knew exactly who we were and, judging by her cheeky grin, the blanket thing is going to be a regular occurrence! How was your weekend? Any changed or unplanned events that turned out well?

You sound like you had a really good time even though your plans were changed. I had a quiet weekend. No changed plans or unplanned events.

We certainly did. A little tiring with Mini's friend. Having two teenage boys is a walk in the park compared to one teenage girl! She's lovely but draining. Midi and I thought we'd tire her out by walking her home but it didn't work. :D A quiet weekend is nice sometimes. I like to be doing things but I also like to not have to do things.

@LindaOHio Nope. It's more difficult than trying to tire out a toddler! Although, she did complain about being unfit on the way home. If she used the same amount of energy on moving as she did on talking, she'd be running the length of Britain!

Well sounds like you still had a good time even though archery was canceled so that is a good thing. No my weekend started well but Sunday didn't go so well as my post mentions, ended up hurting my back and still recovering from that.

@pumpkinjam It is disappointing if you were really looking forward to it. Hopefully next week will be better weather for you. Thank you, it is getting better already, we'll see how it feels at the end of the day.

I don't usually mind the rain. I had a really good sleep as I listened to it on my windows last night! It's not something that I allow to ruin my plans but it's understandable to cancel certain things for it. I was happy that I got some time with both of my boys instead.

I'm sorry archery was canceled due to rain. Yeah, not a good mix. I'm glad you had an enjoyable day with your boys and friend. There's always an upside.

Well there are times that plans has changed and events are cancelled but what I will do is just do my household chores at home when things happened this way or surely I will watch movie or just sleep.

That's a good idea. I often get housework done if I have unexpected time at home. It seems that's the only time I get to do housework! :D
