2019 Health Journey -- Day 167 (June 16th)

June 17, 2019 12:32am CST
So, the day is almost ending here....but my eating window ended at 9 PM. I would like to stop eating earlier but I never seem to be able to. I try to intermittent fast (usually don't eat my first meal of the day till noon or later). Anyways.... I was back on low carb today, and didn't do too bad. My weight was up a little from yesterday, but I expected that. Water weight from the carbs. Fasting blood sugar: 137. Up from the normal numbers I was having, but not awful after a day of carbs. Meal 1: Teriyaki flavored slim jim (love the new flavor, same macros as original flavor) & a mozzarella cheese stick (Blood sugar after: 120) Meal 2: Can of tuna with mayo & no sugar added ketchup (1 carb) 1 slice of cheese (Blood sugar after: 111) Meal 3 & Dessert: 1 taco with a low carb tortilla 3.5 ounces of ground beef 1 serving of shredded cheese Dessert ~ same old peanut butter & butter mixture (might sound odd, but it is delicious). Blood sugar stayed exactly the same since the last meal. ~ Macros~ Calories: 1,586 Protein: 76 Fat: 131 Net Carbs: 19 My macros were pretty spot on, just the fat was a little more than what my daily macro goals are. But I hit the other two macros exactly. My sugar didn't get under 100, but it still was not extremely high...I know sometimes it can take a day or two to come down and I did have a lot of dessert yesterday. How do you think I did getting back on track? Also, how did you do with food today? Eat anything delicious? Healthy? On plan?

Doing good! Can you notice a difference in how you feel from a "cheat" day to a "good" day?

@MommyOfEli2013 Oh that's cool about energy. The thirsty thing makes sense. I've heard of that with diabetes....

@FayeHazel I still can feel tired of course on low carb days, but is completely different than tired on a day when my blood sugar is high! Yes....the excessive thirst is a symptom of diabetes.

Thank you :) And yes...I can definitely feel/notice a difference. On a cheat day I feel exhausted and thirsty....and I have more energy (usually) when it's a good day

You did well. I had a good food day. My usual breakfast and sloppy joes over mashed potatoes for supper. My snack was a bowl of blueberries.

I can understand that! The heat can make it difficult to want to eat big meals! And thank you :)
