Maybe you fell on hard times, maybe you came down with a very bad medical condition, maybe you got divorced...and all of a sudden the friends you thought that you had deserted you. I’m far too trusting and I don’t like it when people are mad at me. I don’t let go of anyone and I’m always trying to chase them down and ask them what I did wrong and how to make it better for them. I care more about keeping friend than I care about what is best for me, I think it would be extremely selfish if I ever put myself before someone else, that’s why I don’t do it. Even if I actually hate that person I will beg them to come back, even if they intentionally walked out because they don’t want to deal with anything I’m going through.

You need to think of yourself first. If someone has wronged you or not cared about your problems, you need to take a hard look at whether or not it's worth holding on to them. In most cases you will decide against them, I'm sure.

I have heard that happen a lot to people. I don't know if I could say it happened to me. You can't lose friends if you never had any! There have been times when people have made it clear that they're fair weather friends or when they only bothered with me because I happened to be the friend/partner of someone else. I have a few friends I might not see often but I know will always be friends. The few people I might not hang out with but who would be there if I needed them. My best friend purports herself to be one of those but she is only really my best friend because I've known her for so long!

@LindaOHio I have heard that married couples had the same friends and when they divorced the friends left one of them. It happens. I feel people come into your life for a reason and if they are not special or true friends then say goodbye to them. Yes, I have a friend like that that listens to me vent and I listen to her vent also.

@LindaOHio You are so right they are hard to come by. Yes it took a long time to find a friend like her.
