They should be ready in few weeks....

In my last discussion I mentioned about my working in garden this morning. I have just digged enough and spread seeds of spinach, fenugreek, corriander and radish in these pots after harvesting the previous produce. They should be ready for havest in coming few weeks. Radish might take a little longer. It takes more than eight weeks. I am running out of bittergourd seeds and have to order them sometimes soon. You can see these pots ready with seeds. Soon we can see them coming out with green leaves. It's so fun and satisfying to see them grow. I feel that the morning was productive. Now I need to relax for a while.

@arunima25 I have a few herbs but now I want to grow vegetables. I have sown seeds and they are slowly sprouting. My garden has many fruit trees but when there is a bumper crop with no takers that is when I feel a bit let down.

@allknowing Soon you will have good produce of veggies. What all have you planted? Yes for fruits, it will be tough to consume all by yourself if there is a bumper crop. How about distributing it? I am sure you must be doing it. And you are good with making juices, preserving pulps and making jams.

Thank You. You have enough space and you can really grow in large amount. For me the produce is very little and I need to buy most of my vegetables. But I am happy to have once in a week vegetable cooked out of my garden. Especially the green chutney of coriander, pudina, chilies and garlic ( all grown here). I bet the market ones taste no way close to it.

That taste too good. Though they are good amount of time and effort needed it, it is worth it. I wish I had a bigger garden to produce more. Then I need not visit vegetable markets so often. The produce is little and I enjoy it.

@ShifaLk So you are using pots for the plants? I thought you have open space in front and back of house to grow them.

@LowRiderX And they value the effort of growing it. They don't waste food once they realize the effort and time that goes there.

I totally agree. Gardening has helped my children understand the value of food. They see how much effort goes in there. I love to dirty my hands. It's therapeutic.

Home grown vegetables are the best, though it is a fact that it takes lots of efforts to grow and maintain them.

Yes they are the best and all effort is worth it. I have less space and so the produce is not much. I have to buy veggies on most days. But having one meal in a week of our home grown produce is worth the effort. I am never out of supply of greens in my garden and my green chutneys out of these fresh produce beat everything else in this world.

@arunima25 Yes, I agree with you that even if it is once in a week, you feel good about eating home grown vegetables. It is for sure that small garden cannot cater the your entire need of vegetables. I can understand that you make best green chutney with home gown leafy vegetables.

Yes I enjoyed it. Gardening is one of my hobbies but I could not do it since a long time due to some or other thing keeping me occupied. Also having a gardener made me lazy I will relax for some more time and then get back to other chores. Mylotting is a good way to relax.

You can start it. It is fulfilling. I use compost. Actually they collect our kitchen garbage in our apartment and compost it. The residents here can get those composts for free. I get them once in month. Once in a year when we do re potting ( due this July), I mix the soil with cow dung.
