Today my husband, one of our friends and I went on a sightseeing cruise in Aarhus (the second largest city in Denmark) The day didn't start well. We thought that we had plenty of time to find the harbour, but we got lost. We called our friend and he told us how to get there. We found the right area and parked in a parking lot, but on the way out we discovered that it was a private parking lot. We were not allowed park to there, so we had to find a different place to park. Our friend called me and said: "Where are you? You are supposed to be here in 5 minutes" I told him that we were on our way. We left our car in a different parking lot and ran all the way to the boat. We made it - we got there one minute before the sightseeing cruise started. The sightseeing cruise was nice. I was a little sad that I wasn't able to take photos from the boat. The was no battery left on my phone, but I enjoyed the view instead and listened to the guide.

We were the last passengers who arrived, and we had to run to get there on time, but we made it, that is the most important thing. Yes, I am sad that I didn't get any pictures, that would have been nice.

@snowy22315 I also love to take picture of the places I visit. I have several photo albums with pictures from my trips.

So you had mixed feelings on this cruise This happens to all of us. I was in Amsterdam and so wanted to visit Tulip fields but we were late by 15 days.

The cruise was nice when we arrived, but it was much harder to find the place that I imagined. It is sad you didn't manage to see the Tulips. I love Tulips, but I have only been to Amsterdam during the winter.

Oh, no, that does not sound good at all. At least you did make it, and I am sure the cruise was worth it in the end. It's not something I have done myself but my eldest son is going on his third cruise soon. At the age of 17, he went from never having been out of the UK to visiting multiple countries! The first one was around the Mediterranean. I think the second was similar places. This third one is going to be around the Baltic so might be a bit colder!

Yes, it was worth it. I am so happy that we made it. We had bought tickets in advance and if we had arrived 5 minutes later the money would have been lost. Cruises are a great way to visit many different places. The Mediterranean cruise your son went on sounds interesting. I know that some of the travel agencies in my country arrange Baltic cruises. I already know that area quite well, and I never bought one of them, but there are many nice places to visit in that area.

I was in Aarhus when my class was on an exchange visit with Danish pupils. The exchange school was in Horsens.

I know Horsens very well. I lived there for a while. I often visited Aarhus while I lived there. I like that part of Denmark very much.

@Porcospino I don't remember much. I was only 14 or so and it was a short visit. I remember more about Copenhagen where I stayed four times with Danish friends.

I am always sad if I can't take photos. You had a good time and this is what matters.

Me too. I have photo albums from most of my trips, but I still enjoyed the sightseeing cruise.

It was a nice way to see the city. There are many buildings near the harbour, and some of them are very unusual. Some of the apartments are extremely luxurious and expensive.
