Nowadays getting a passport is quite expensive here. It used to last 10 years, but now you have to renew it after only 5 years. My passport has to be renewed before I go to Aruba as the date ended a few days ago and We Chilean need a passport for Aruba. I can go to several South American countries with just my I.D. but not to Aruba, so near the coasts of South America. Some things get cheaper and other more expensive. Air fare is much cheaper than what it used to be, but a little piece of paper costs more. And long ago, I used to look forward to meals aboard. Now they are the worst you can imagine. My holidays are starting, little by little. Some things in my mind, othersin preparations.

We just got our first passports here in the US. They were $145 for each of us, plus $30 for the photos. Hope you'll enjoy your vacations.

Aruba will be great! How is your daughter? I got my birthcertificate, but I am not eligibile for a PP renewal since mine expired 10 years ago. Not sure when I am gonna have that cash available because I am wanting to switch internet providers and it costs some extra money initially.

@marguicha Well hopefully everything will be OK. We can only renew ours with a lower fee if if it has been expired for less than 5 or 10 years.

My daughter has to rest for a long while now. Surgery is the first part of her recovery. Here we can renew our passports when we want to, provided we have not done any wrong and provided we pay.

It is irritating. There are many people that need passports to work.

@LadyDuck Back guys travel all over the world. People like us, who would not steal a pin, have to fill lots of papers.

@marguicha Yes, we had to renew our Italian passport to renew our ID in Monte Carlo. Here the Italian ID is enough.

I didn't realize passports weren't good for 10 years any longer. I've heard about the food.

I don´t know if it depends on the country. As for food in planes, every day the space is smaller and the food is worse.

@just4him I know. But in a long flight, there should be decent food. And there should be 2 alternatives, one for vegetarians.

@marguicha That's a shame about the food. I know if it's a short flight, they don't offer it any longer.

@marguicha Validity of indian passports lasts till 10 years , I ll need to renew it upcoming 2021. Perhaps in India the charges are not too high to be concerned about either.

I thought passport rules were international. Here we renew our passports every 10 years unless it has changed here too. I better check.
