Diary 4th To 8th July 2019

A very quiet week, with my income at quite a low ebb. I wished my American friends a happy Independence Day as Trump claimed the Revolutionary War was won by capturing airport and dominating the air even though aircraft didn't exit until the early 20th century. Much of my time was dominated by library visits, job searching and shopping. I learned that one day next week when I am down for voluntary work it is actually paid work for the day as the visiting speaker I am assisting is paying a stipend for my services. Yay! My weekly bus ticket ran out on Sunday 7th July but as I'm not traveling again until Wednesday 10th I don't need to renew it until then. A parcel for one of my neighbours was left with me as she was out and still is two days on. I always feel nervous having charge of someone else's property. I'll be happy when I can hand it to her safely. Arthur Chappell

I am glad that your voluntary work will be paid, great! I do not like to keep parcels of my neighbors, an accident may happen. I cannot believe that Trump said something so stupid, even a kid knows that there were not airports at that time in history.

@LadyDuck Trump blames a broken teleprompter but that is a really unconvincing excuse

@arthurchappell Even if that was the case and he had to improvise, he proved to the world that he is an ignorant.

I get a lot of post for one of my neighbours. Especially at Christmas. I actually got a parcel this week that I assumed was for them to start with, as that's normally who the courier is delivering to!

That's great that you're being paid for your help. It's surely about time you had a little monetary reward for all your services.
