Happy Thursday Everyone! it's a rainy day here in my little corner of the myLot world. A little rain is good but we're supposed to get periodic downpours and thunderstorms. We had a nice day yesterday at the birthday party. It's a little weird having a party in the middle of the day on a Wednesday. It kind of threw me off as to what day it is since normally we'd do a party on the weekend. Anyway it was all good except for the dog. My daughter has a huge black lab named Tank. His name fits him perfectly and he's 2 years old. Usually he'll be in the yard when we visit because he's a bit on the rambunctious side. But yesterday was too hot for him to be outside so he was in trouble all day long. Being still in that puppy stage he does't listen very well. He also thinks he weighs about 8 pounds instead of 80 pounds and was constantly jumping and trying to sit on everyone. At one point he stole my flip flop right off my foot and thankfully the kids were able to get it back before it became his lunch. I hate to say it but going there and having to deal with the dog is less than fun. He didn't lay down and relax not once the whole time we were there. The whole day all you heard was "Tank stop" He probably thinks his middle name is stop since it's said so often But, aside from the dog we had a good time and when family is together that's what counts. Do you like small dogs or big dogs?

@Marilynda1225 We babysat for our friend's black lab Jo Jo. I have the Wedgewood china my mother bought for me in an open-shelved etagere. I put chairs in front of the etagere because Jo Jo would have destroyed my china due to her being so bouncy. Jo Jo was all over the place, but she sure had such a good time here.
@Marilynda1225 I had a lab-husky and loved her so much. I love him already. That is the kind of dog I love. We have a small place and the only kinds of dogs I would want for Sophie and myself would be a lab, a husky or golden retriever. They are big dogs. He sounds like a troublemaker. My dog ate a part out of our couch. He is still young and still growing and needs direction. I love dogs and the ones that I mentioned are big dogs and I wish we could have had one of them.

My friend had a husky and he was a beautiful dog. My middle daughter has two black labs and my oldest daughter had a golden retriever before this black lab that she has now. Big dogs are beautiful but where I live we can only have small dogs.

Lol, sorry about the big baby! We have a Rottweiler and an Australian Shepherd so big dogs suit us quite well. =) Junior is the baby here at just 6 months old although he looks grown and weighs about 60 pounds. Baby Girl (came with the name, lol) is 11 years old-we have had her since she was one! She's about 75 pounds.

My daughter had a golden retriever before this dog and he was the quietest and gentlest dog ever. When the grandkids were little they would sit on him and ride him like a pony. This dog Tank gallops through the house and thinks he's a pony!!

I can see that would bother some people. They should have a kennel to put him in another room if he doesn't stop doing that. We have one that likes to jump but she's about 25 pounds or so. She eventually stops but does like to sit on laps and will jump right up.
I prefer smaller dogs, but not actual lap dogs so much. We have had a couple of labs over the years, and we found that between 2 and 3 years of age they usually settle down and stop with the nonsense that most of us associate with the puppy stage. I hope that happens with Tank. And BTW, I know what you mean about being thrown off by the day of the week, this week I am working my usual days off, and today I got groceries, which is a Friday chore. I'll be glad when I return to my usual schedule in a couple of weeks.

I like all dogs. I have a 20 pounder and a Tank, lol. Roscoe is as big as me and he is about 4/5 years old and wants to sit on me, however I don`t allow the dogs inside, I am allergic to animals and inside is to much for my asthma. That is why I am outside a lot, sometimes when I will be home all day I let them out of the backyard to roam around the land.
that was funny about him thinking his middle name is stop I use to have a lab & you right they are a big dog to be playing with but they are SO much fun at that age I had 1 named spook & he fit his name too he use to love the go play in the swamp we had & when he ran so fast he would look like a BEAR running. glad you had a great day playing with him.
