Happy Thursday Everyone! it's a rainy day here in my little corner of the myLot world. A little rain is good but we're supposed to get periodic downpours and thunderstorms. We had a nice day yesterday at the birthday party. It's a little weird having a party in the middle of the day on a Wednesday. It kind of threw me off as to what day it is since normally we'd do a party on the weekend. Anyway it was all good except for the dog. My daughter has a huge black lab named Tank. His name fits him perfectly and he's 2 years old. Usually he'll be in the yard when we visit because he's a bit on the rambunctious side. But yesterday was too hot for him to be outside so he was in trouble all day long. Being still in that puppy stage he does't listen very well. He also thinks he weighs about 8 pounds instead of 80 pounds and was constantly jumping and trying to sit on everyone. At one point he stole my flip flop right off my foot and thankfully the kids were able to get it back before it became his lunch. I hate to say it but going there and having to deal with the dog is less than fun. He didn't lay down and relax not once the whole time we were there. The whole day all you heard was "Tank stop" He probably thinks his middle name is stop since it's said so often But, aside from the dog we had a good time and when family is together that's what counts. Do you like small dogs or big dogs?

the dog should have his own play pen there and not to bother. When we have company Ms.Rugy has to go to her room til she settled down and then c ome and visit with us.

That's a very good idea Fredo. Unfortunately my daughter let's the dog run the house and he's too big to be obnoxious

I prefer small dogs, although Golden's are beautiful dogs. I can't believe how big their heads are.

@Marilynda1225 Yes, I think they are good and smart dogs, but I have heard they really like to chew.

My daughter had a golden retriever before this dog and he was the quietest and gentlest dog ever. When the grandkids were little they would sit on him and ride him like a pony. This dog Tank gallops through the house and thinks he's a pony!!

Lol, sorry about the big baby! We have a Rottweiler and an Australian Shepherd so big dogs suit us quite well. =) Junior is the baby here at just 6 months old although he looks grown and weighs about 60 pounds. Baby Girl (came with the name, lol) is 11 years old-we have had her since she was one! She's about 75 pounds.

My friend had a Rottweiler that was very well behaved. I was never afraid of visiting her even though big dogs kind of scare me a bit.

I love all dogs but prefer small ones. I wouldn't trade my two for anything.

@Marilynda1225 yes, they are both well behaved. Every once in a while, Daisy will get a little rowdy but overall she is pretty calm. But, her puppy years just about did me in. I'm getting too old for puppies...lol.

@Marilynda1225 I had a lab-husky and loved her so much. I love him already. That is the kind of dog I love. We have a small place and the only kinds of dogs I would want for Sophie and myself would be a lab, a husky or golden retriever. They are big dogs. He sounds like a troublemaker. My dog ate a part out of our couch. He is still young and still growing and needs direction. I love dogs and the ones that I mentioned are big dogs and I wish we could have had one of them.

My friend had a husky and he was a beautiful dog. My middle daughter has two black labs and my oldest daughter had a golden retriever before this black lab that she has now. Big dogs are beautiful but where I live we can only have small dogs.

@Marilynda1225 I have my cat and that is all the room we have here. Those are the only kinds of dogs that I love so cannot have one here. So it is Sophie and I.

I prefer smaller dogs, but not actual lap dogs so much. We have had a couple of labs over the years, and we found that between 2 and 3 years of age they usually settle down and stop with the nonsense that most of us associate with the puppy stage. I hope that happens with Tank. And BTW, I know what you mean about being thrown off by the day of the week, this week I am working my usual days off, and today I got groceries, which is a Friday chore. I'll be glad when I return to my usual schedule in a couple of weeks.

Hopefully Tank will settle down as he gets older but right now he's a hand full. Too much dog for me lol I like my routine so I get easily messed up when doing things out of the ordinary

I like dogs but so often they have to jump up on you or be a nuisance. I think that basically they should be kept away from visitors.

I agree 100%. There are times when I hate going to my daughters house because of the dog.

I like all dogs. I have a 20 pounder and a Tank, lol. Roscoe is as big as me and he is about 4/5 years old and wants to sit on me, however I don`t allow the dogs inside, I am allergic to animals and inside is to much for my asthma. That is why I am outside a lot, sometimes when I will be home all day I let them out of the backyard to roam around the land.

At least your dogs have plenty of room outside to get rid of excess energy. I hope Tank calms down as he gets older

We have a big dog and i must admit, he is very playful. I used to live with my dad when i was still single and he has two chihuashuas. They are more behaved than my big dog now.
