Not worth watching

I was a bit busy at work and kept trying to get to my notifications and I just now finished getting through them all. Last night I watched A Star is Born with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. It's not the typical movie I watch but I thought I would give it a try and see what all the hype was about this movie. It was called one of the top 10 movies of 2018 with 5 Golden Globe nominations and 8 Academy Award nominations. I get that I am not the demographic they are going after but I didn't see what was so great about this movie. I felt it was typical Hollywood pushing their agenda and not a whole lot more. The acting was alright at best and the story was predictable. Certainly not something I would recommend and certainly wouldn't watch it again. Well much to do around the house tonight, hope you all have a good night.

I saw the the Barbara Streisand version when I was in high school. Not sure if I'll see the new version.

@Bensen32 I think that Judy Garland was in the original. I haven't seen it.

Oh now that you mention Barbara Streisand, maybe I do remember that movie, I didn't hear that this was a remake till after watching this. Not sure I ever seen the previous ones.

I confess that just looking at the actor I would have not watched. Thanks for confirming my first opinion and feeling.

@Bensen32 I have to say that I have been surprised by some movies, I thought I would have not liked, but I liked a lot.

Sometimes I will just watch something that I normally would not watch just to see how it is. Sometimes I am surprised that I like it and sometimes I am disappointed in how bad it is.

A pointless remake of a remake of a remake.

Funny I didn't know it was a remake till after I watched it. I should have guessed cause it seems Hollywood is only remaking things now. Seems they can't come up with anything new.

@ShifaLk Well, then I probably never heard of it but you could share the name if you like. I guess it wouldn't be to funny to me since I wouldn't understand a word they are saying.

My late mom always thought motion pictures that have more Academy Awards that could fill a room are not that good in the first place. The one motion picture that was an Oscar winner that was good was "Rocky" in 1976.

I think your mom was on to something, I often do not like the highly awarded movies, there are a few exceptions to that rule though.

Not my cup of tea. I like action, suspense and mystery.

Yea, like I said not something I would normally watch but thought I would give it a try, wish I wouldn't have, I will never get that time back.
