As you know from my previous post, Barry was expected to make landfall no later than 7 a.m. this morning. As of 10:00 this morning, Tropical Storm Barry is still churning in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana.
This location is bringing bands of rain to the coast of Louisiana and the Biloxi-Gulfport area of Mississippi. They are still forecasting up to 20 inches of rain in some areas. We will have steady rain once this storm hits land through Monday and possibly Tuesday.
We are just watching the weather and thankful that we are not in an area that has been impacted by the high winds and already have lost electricity.

I've been watching the storm on Accuweather and on TV. Hope you don't lose power. Stay safe!

Be safe Karen. This storm looks like it's going to be a bad one

NO, it does not mean we are safe. Anywhere in the outer bands, heavy rain will be hitting causing flash flooding and rivers to possibly flood in a couple of days as the rivers rise. Also, tornadoes are possible all night tonight and tomorrow as the storms that are spawned from the hurricane move through.

@kareng This is true. I forgot about the tornadoes that inevitably come with these treacherous storms.

@Nakitakona By boat or airlift. It depends on the area and situation.

@kareng That's dangerous. How does your government evacuate the people who are in danger?
