~Fake It Til You Make It~

Good morning everyone! I hope you're doing amazing. God has blessed us with a new day and I am grateful for it. I do what I do not because I have to but because I love Him and want to!! =) This morning someone messaged me about a work at home job selling skin care products. See my title for this discussion? Yeah, that is NOT me-not how I do things! If I don't 100% believe in something I cannot share about it or sell it-I just can't. Plus, if I am being honest I cannot practically GIVE AWAY my photo sessions and photography is something I absolutely love! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with my photography but...things are just painfully slow. I literally cannot sell ice cream to kids on a hot summer day! Are you good at selling things? If you need prayers please let me know! I pray the minute you ask me to. Image is a cell phone pic I took a couple years ago.

I objected to selling anything to friends and relatives that I am not sure will be for their benefit. Something that is to be ingested...definitely no.

Your photography that you share here is definitely a God-given talent. And I feel that its wonderful that you are sharing your talent. I wouldn't feel down about things being slow at this time, a lot of people are taking a break for the summer. I am sure that after Labour Day you should see things take off again.

@Juliaacv Thank you very much and thank you for believing in what I do. I really need the love and support. I do think a lot of it is the time of month. Thank you!

@LovingMyBabies What would happen if you and your family did a full moon outdoor shoot? That might open up a new market, pets and people, outside enjoying the light of the full moon. I only thought of this because you mentioned the time of the month......

Everything takes time. You've had some great photo sessions. As word of mouth spreads, you'll get more work.

Sorry the photography thing isn't generating the kind of responses you'd like. I know several photographers who take photos as a side job. There is a LOT of competition and a lot of people who are willing to pay for photos would rather pay the price of an expensive professional than trust the job to someone who doesn't have the experience of a professional.

@Sophiamorros I have been taking photo's for many many years-just recently started charging donations for it. Thank you for your thoughts. :)

@LovingMyBabies there is a difference between a professional and someone who has been taking photos for a long time (no disrespect to either your experience or your talents) a professional HAS to be professional. Photography is his or her livelihood, his next month's rent depends on satisfying the customer. My intention is not to be disparaging but to try give you a little insight into the mind of the consumer.

I have always been good at selling things. I never forced anyone. If they buy it that's good. If not I do not care.

A lot has to do with this being vacation month. Things have been slow here too. Just keep putting the word out, let people know who you are and you are reasonable. See that is how I feel, when I started Sunshine`s homestead creations I had already used what I made so I knew it was good stuff, I do not sell anything I don`t use myself.

@andriaperry Thank you! My sister who has a business also said this has been her slowest month so far. It must be this way everywhere! Yes, I am the same way. I cannot sell something that I don't enjoy myself or believe in.

I am not good at selling things. Selling things means you need to be very talkative. But I am not. I did a job on NGO for 1 year and 5 months. But I left it as I was getting married.

That's a lovely picture of the 3 dolls. :) Even I'm like you. I can't sell any product unless I believe their benefits or usage. I can't sell a product that I don't use it too. In other words, I will be comfortable selling a product only after knowing them thoroughly. You're surely doing a great work in photography. Please continue your good works and you will definitely see the things speeding up.. all the very best!
