Health Report - Day 20

Good morning. How is everyone? I've had a productive morning so far. Swimming was great, crowded but good. I also spent time in the fitness center and added another machine to my workout, the Ab Crunch machine - weight level 50, reps 50, plus twice on the leg curl machine at 50 each. I'm at 30 # weight. I'm thinking about increasing that tomorrow, and 70 reps on the leg press, that's at 60 # weight.
After the Y I needed to take back a pair of shorts I bought yesterday for a larger size. I knew I wasn't in a size 12 yet, so the 12-14 didn't work. If they had a 14-16 that would have worked, but they don't, so it was 16-18. Due to the way manufacturers size their clothes, I'm sure it's going to feel more like a 14. Anyway, I'm not that concerned over the size of the clothes, I am, but hey, when I got into the swimsuit that is still slightly small but needed to wear it anyway and it was comfortable, I know everyone's sizes are different. My old suit sprung a hole so needed to make the change a little earlier than expected. It looks nice on me and isn't indecent, so that's good.
So, that was my morning. Now for yesterday's numbers.
Calories: 1031
Sugar: 39.19
Carbs: 112.12
Protein: 45.6
Sodium: 678
Fat: 43.9
Calories Burned: 714
Total Calories: 321
I didn't have supper last night. I had a delicious snack. With my birthday coming up on Friday, I've been wanting a cake. Yes, cake means calories and sugar - normally. The calories were there, but not the sugar. I substituted the tablespoon of milk for cashew milk and used Stevia for the 1/4 teaspoon of sugar it called for, and you know Stevia is calorie-free. I also eliminated the salt. Otherwise, the sodium level even in a quarter teaspoon would have been off the chart. At least my chart. It's called Chocolate Mug Cake. It has a 2 serving recipe and also breaks down for the 1 serving, which is what I made. So between that and the very healthy blueberry snack I had in the afternoon, I didn't need supper. And I didn't wake up hungry. I didn't get home until almost 9. My breakfast is finished and I'm ready to bust the notifications down to a respectable level as I see what all of you are up to today.

@just4him I've not been around enough to be behind or they fell off long ago. Currently I have ten although I probably have double that I should visit with soon.

On your mug cake did you also use almond flour? It sounds like what I made x tonight although this batch want quite as good as on I made last month. I think it tastes better from the oven or maybe it was because I used a little dark chocolate cocoa with the regular.
This time I nuked mine.
BTW, that's a lot of weights and a lot of reps. Don't overdo that. I've never heard of doing that many reps before. Maybe I'll ask my pt person about that.
So you do the weights every day? If so I've heard that it's good to do legs one day and arenas the next to allow them to rest in between.

@just4him mine had that name too. It only takes about four tbs of almond flour.

@MarshaMusselman It has almond butter, egg, milk, I substituted cashew milk, Stevia, salt - I left that out, and unsweetened cocoa.

I hope your goal to reduce your weight won't be impossible through your own effort and initiative. Try to replace your swimsuit for you to feel comfortable hehehe. I am always intrigue of that cashew milk which until now I haven't found. Maybe I can order this through Amazon.

@DianneN I'm sure it does. I try not to sit too long and get up and do things like running the dishwasher, which I did a short while ago. I'm also thinking about food. I don't want to, but my stomach is starting to get quite insistent, so I'll be getting up for that too, soon.
Being active as you are, is good for your back and keeps you from being stiff.

This post made me smile, you are doing wonderful and including a tad bit of sweetness to your diet! A ridged diet gets so boring, which makes it next to impossible to stick with it. I know this for a fact, because a diabetic's enemy is suppose to be 'sugar!' Since I found out this isn't true, I'm enjoying this diabetic diet to the max:) I am learning(just like you)to cut corners, with stevia and other non-sugar substitutes. The flavor is what counts most! I can enjoy food again, without sending my glucose level through the ceiling! Treats are legal My mom's friends Jim&Marge went to the Dairy Queen once a month, for a 'sundae.' They'd enjoy every bite, because it would replace their evening meal. This special treat didn't add unwanted calories to their diet or waistline:)

@just4him I'm glad your new shorts fit perfectly. I haven't worn a pair yet this summer, it has been very cool here. Now that it has warmed up, I'll be getting them out this week.

Sounds like a good time at the gym/swimming pool. That's good to add new machines! Great work :)
And sounds like good numbers yesterday....mug cakes can be quite delicious. I usually make mine with almond flour.

@just4him That's very interesting...never heard of them not needing any kind! But that is good then. And the more the better in terms of exercising!
