Anyone into the FaceApp challenge?

There is this new FaceApp challenge where people are making themselves look old.
I learned about it when I saw a picture on Instagram of Gordon Ramsey looking old with the caption "me doing a demo on Master Chef season 50." 
It seems to have started with celebrities but now regular people are doing it too.
I did not jump on this bandwagon and don't get why others are doing it.
Instead of making themselves look old why don't people make themselves look younger?
Isn't that what we all want--to age gracefully?

People opening cartons of ice cream and licking them, people making themselves look older, and doing other crazy things... what has the world come to?

@LadyDuck I have read that link about the Russian developer of face app and so I shared this to my fb friends who were using it. I am always suspicious when they said I have to allow them to see my profile and photos in fb. I don't allow it and don't use anything that my friends are crazy about.

@lovebuglena If you want to have fun, find a photo of your mother or better your grandmother when they were young and make a test... you will see how much it works. Give fake identities.

Me neither. I do not see the point. It's not like that's how we are actually going to look when we are older.
