“Could I just PASS OUT when SOMEONE just won't STOP TALKING?”

This morning, I went out to do some errands. It was a quick one and I needed to go back home right away. It is because I need to have my online classes in the afternoon. Out of the blue, a former colleague of mine popped out on the street and managed to catch up about life. He is really a smooth talker and continued to keep on talking non-stop. I kept on checking my wristwatch and of course, I don’t want to be rude but it needs to stop the conversation. “How do you escape yourself from a big talker?”I Image Credit: apurposefulbusiness.com

I cannot stand those who talk non stop (and usually never listen). I usually look at my wristwatch and I say, "sorry, I am late for an appointment" and run away.

I can feel you on this. Honestly, I really cannot endure listing to a big talker. The worst if this person fabricates untrue stories.

@LadyDuck I also noticed that. I am not a timid person. But I really cannot endure talking with this kind of person. This person is one of those colleagues who cannot finish their jobs.

@Shavkat Most of the time the big talkers invent stories to continue to talk.

After listening to him more than enough, I tell frankly that I have something to do in a nice way.

You are right. We need to excuse ourselves in a polite way.

Good thing I have not met someone like that. I think he misses that much and was trying to catch up with you that he continuously talked without minding if you were busy with something. Curiously, I am wondering how were you able to break the conversation and exit away from that situation.

@rsa101 I just stared at him and excuse myself politely. He knew that I don't entertain people that much. Having a long conversation is not frosting on the cake for me.

It seems that he wanted to know more about what is going in my life right now. One thing for sure, he wants to spread fabricated stories about me. I was so careful talking with him and he is well-known for this kind of character.

If I can only pretend I didn't see this person, I will do it. I guess this former colleague noticed my uneasiness and let me go at that time.

@Shavkat right, and then he should already know how you feel if he talks one-sided.

I can be a big talker. If it really needs to go, then I think we still need to be polite to exit oneself.
