How many here likes figs. Yes.Although dried figs are available throughout the year, there is nothing like the unique taste and texture of fresh figs. They are lusciously sweet with a texture that combines the chewiness of their flesh, the smoothness of their skin, and the crunchiness of their seeds. Health benifits: 1.Help Lower High Blood Pressure 2.A Sweet Way to Lose Weight 3.Fruit and Cereal Fiber Protective against Postmenopausal Breast Cancer 4.An Insulin-Lowering Leaf in Diabetes 5.Cardiovascular Effects 6.Protection against Macular Degeneration

Yes I love figs! I have a fig bush that is now a tree. I eat fresh and I home can them. Mine are just now beginning to turn from green to light brown. One of my favorite fruits!

@amadeo Yes the bush/tree is loaded! I make preserves and fig paste, like what goes into the newtons and I canned sliced figs in syrup.

That pastry looks like what we call ensaymada here in my country. I am a bread eater and I would probably love figs, too. I haven't tasted one.

@amadeo Not yet. But there is an island called Palawan which we call our rainforest, and the locals at Narra municipality had planted figs. Perhaps in time. Sadly, Palawan is two kilometers away from the disputed shoal the Chinese built a missile base on. Hu hu.

It is also used for indigestion, constipation , heartburn, sour stomach or upset stomach. Soak 2 -3 figs in water for 4to 5 hours in daytime and consume it after dinner.

I do not like figs. Growing up we always had fig trees, which meant fig brad and preserves. But I did not like the taste.

I'm assure I've had the fresh variety when I was younger but not in the last forty some years. I'm sure I liked them but they're pretty sweet, naturally aren't they? Until I lose some weight I think they are off my list
