Work, Gossip, Dinner and Birthday Cake

I was so bored of doing nothing today, I went to work late,very late.
Last week I had taken the lower kitchen cabinets out, trashed them, piled them with the carpet I had pulled out too, left all of it to take to the dump today. That did not happen, so this evening I went to the old home place with a hammer and beat them apart and places a huge section in the trash can for Monday pick up.
As I was leaving I seen the neighbor and stopped to talk to him, he told me what happened to the punk, he hit someone in the head and went to jail. He said two crack heads, women, left the cats in the house and he went in and rescued them. He also told me about the guy I just pressed charges against and won, where he is staying, once again on someone`s empty property and next door to mine.
I wanted to be really bad! I mean bad as in eating very bad today.... so I did! McDonald`s. I got a double cheeseburger and fries but me and Tony split those, he got a fish sandwich and it was hard, like they nuked it, I took that fish inside and asked for my money back! I am so tired of paying for crap food, she gave me my money back, no fuss. I drove across the street and got him an Arby`s roast beef.
Since I am on a roll of being bad I went to the grocery store for a birthday cake, orange crush pound cake! Tony wanted pecan pinwheels so I got him those. But then I seen it....... it was huge and I wanted it bad!
I walked over and looked, thought about it, lifted to see if I could pick it up. I could! So I got it. A watermelon as big as my torso! I will say I was breathless after toting it up a flight of stairs and into my kitchen.
Tony`s reaction to the melon? "DAMN! what a watermelon."
So that was my birthday, not the best ever but not the worst either.

Happy Birthday, sweetie. I am glad your day wasn't a total bummer. Eat that cake and enjoy it. And you have watermelon for tomorrow. I wish I had picked one up today while at the store but I had already gone overboard. My mom also had a list for me.

@andriaperry Not bad. The prices in some of the grocery stores are crazy, $12 to $15 and there is no telling where they were shipped in from. I try to stick with local.

Happy birthday! Being bad can be good and sounds like yours was. McDonald's messed up an order for me two weeks ago and I complained doing the survey on the receipt and to get a code for the BOGO. The manager contacted me and said she was sending me a gift card to get a free burger to make it right. They came in the mail today and she has given me two full medium meals free. I can get a salad and drink too. Sometimes making a fuss will get results.

We had a cake for my niece but since she is getting older we didn't want to tell her no about staying the night with friends instead of coming home to do cake with her grandma and uncle.... we will just freeze the cake for another day.

Well done Andria!
You've been eating very healthy it must have felt great to have something that you haven't had in a long time.
We went out for supper, no place really fancy, just casual but delicious food. It was a pub style place, and they have great food, huge portions and good prices. We had bruschetta and then I had haddock tacos while my hubby had chicken penne. The fish was spicy, and I don't like a lot of spice, so after I had part of my meal, we switched plates and I ate some of his chicken penne (which was delicious) and he finished my fish tacos, then he finished his plate as I had had enough by then and was full. We didn't have dessert for a couple of hours and then he had sorbet while I had frozen yogurt-at home by then.

Birthdays are meant for indulging and being spoiled rotten. So glad you had a nice end to your day.
We went out to dinner with friends - our usual Saturnight thing to do. I had the most delicious walnut crusted salmon ever with fried calamari to start, mashed potatoes, and haricots vert. I shared a trifle with my husband only because it looked delicious and was loaded with fresh fruit.
