The nurse demanded my dad go see a doctor immediately today....

For those of you who hadn't been aware of what my dad has been going through, I will just quickly explain. Basically in January this year he become ill due to an infected big toe ( he has diabetes ). He almost died from blood poisoning. Had to have that toe amputated. Almost lost his foot. Since then his health has improved. As well as the wound on his foot becoming smaller and healthier. He has to see a nurse from a company called Silver Chain every second day for check ups as well as changing his bandages. Anyway, things have improved like I said. Great blood tests, wound looking good, skin healing and becoming healthier. Few small things here and there in regards to the wound but nothing too serious. He saw a nurse this morning and she noticed some weeping on another toe on the same foot. So she demanded he see a doctor today. His doctor isn't working today and I got worried he would wait until he was available but luckily he isn't doing what he did to himself like last time by waiting! He is out with my Nanny and Poppy right now to see them ( I didn't feel like going out today ) but right after that he is going to a hospital, see a doctor and possibly be on another round of antibiotics. He finished his antibiotics last month or month before. I'm hoping this can be a simple fix as things have been going so well so far. I'm wondering if maybe a little toe is a bit infected due to him wearing shoes more often and walking on his foot more as he is back at work. Not sure. Not much I can do and a guessing game wouldn't help as I will know the details when he gets back. I will let you guys know also. I am a bit worried. Hopefully it's something simple and nothing too serious.

I am glad he did not wait this time. As you say, this can be a simply fix that he needs, because he is no more taking the antibiotics. Try not to worry too much and let us know.

@LadyDuck Me too! It would have put me in a bad mood if he said he was going to wait. I will try not to worry and soon as I know anything, will do an update post. Thank you for being here.

@LadyDuck Thank you. Will do. I know it doesn't help his foot but tomorrow I plan on doing a big clean / tidy up of the house so it looks really nice for when my dad comes back home from work. Whether it's good news or bad news, I will still go ahead and clean up the house.

I'm glad he isn't waiting. Hopefully, it's something caught early and will heal OK. He may need special made shoes.

@VivaLaDani13 I have friends with parents, spouses etc that have diabetes and each one had to get special shoes. Maybe he can get his doctor to convince his insurance to pay for a special order and fitting.

@noni1959 I am sure glad he isn't waiting either. Better to get it checked out soon as possible. He does have a bigger shoe for the foot so it's not cramping inside. But you may be right! Maybe he will need something different if this is the cause of this. Thank you for your answer.

@VivaLaDani13 I think there are some nurses who can visit him at home, right? I think it is also a good option.

@Shavkat Yes, my dad did have that happening for awhile but he doesn't need that anymore. He goes to them every day for he can drive now.

@Shavkat He has been seeing doctors, his surgeon and nurses a lot since he was let out of hospital. He sees a nurse every second day ( possibly every day now since this new thing has happened ).

@andriaperry I am glad he is. I would have lost my temper if he was going to wait. Don't want to go through all that again. And thank you. You are right! Guess we will know when he comes back home.

He did the right thing this time by not waiting to go see a doctor. I hope it ends up being nothing too serious. I see that you wrote another post with an update, so I am going to go read that as soon as I finish writing this comment.

@chrissbergstrom I totally agree! It's really hard when dealing with things alone. I know people do it by choice and that is fine but never hurts to ask for help or just vent things out. R.I.P to your Uncle. He sure sounded like a trooper! Brave and strong!
