Verify Your Account Please

I made a payment towards my credit card twice this month. After I made the second payment a screen popped up explaining how I'd need to verify. Basically, it said that they would charge my bank account several small amounts and I'd have to verify those amounts once I received them. Well, I received them but couldn't find where I'd need to verify them. I had to call the credit card people, and wouldn't you know? I figured it out while on the phone with them. Didn't even need their help. I think the poor woman was confused anyway, I told her I needed to know how to verify my account and explained why but all she said was "Yes, you paid $15.00." Anyway... Usually these small amounts get reversed once the verification process has happened. Technically speaking I paid in advance for next month as it shows I owe $0.00 before August 1st. However, I plan to pay my normal amount of $25.00 at the first of the month as well. I hate being in debt, even if I only owe $65.00.

Yes, a little annoyance about having to call, but atleast I got it figured out. There are two ways to pay on my credit card, one is the express way and the other is standard. The express way charges you $9.99, but the standard way is free. The express way allows you to pay the bill and have the money available within 2 days, the standard is a full week. The standard is what I use and what needed to be verified. I've been using the standard way so I am not sure why it needed to be verified but I'm glad it's over.

@JustBhem Atleast it shouldn't be hard from now on. If they try to ask me to verify my account again I will call and complain. It takes extra money out of my account, and I hope that money goes towards my balance, but I am not sure if it does.

I guess any debt will incur charges so it is better to be one step ahead if you can!

These "charges" were a bank account verification thing. I've used this account several times to pay on my debt, so I am not sure why they wanted to verify it now. It might have been because I had paid twice in one month and the amounts were similar. (I paid $15.05 one time and $15.00 the next).

True. I didn't really want to call but I wanted to get it over with as if I didn't verify? I'd still be able to pay (obviously) but I'd have to pay an extra $9.95 for using the express method.

I have my gym membership charged to my credit card and I've bought a few other things with it but I've been paying it off in full each month.

I hardly use my credit card but I had unexpected expense come up and ended up having to go over my limit by $50.00. I've been paying it off ever since and am nearly there.
