Yesterday was my one day to camp this year. In a tent. No electricity. Just a tent, camp fire and everything we brought with us.
We were disappointed to find that our camp site felt super “open” (you were unable to LOOK at your camp site before booking it) but in the end it fulfilled its need. Just parallel to the campsite were all the trails, about 11 miles worth. We hiked for 6 and called it done.
Everything was great until we tried to sleep and there were clearly raccoons or some other critters clawing, breathing, making noises and walking all around the tent. For hours. Probably in search of food. Literally was one of the creepiest things I have heard/seen in a while. So..we did not get much sleep.
Also. The spiders were HUGE.
Have you gone camping this year?

We want our creature comforts as we get older. Roughing it is for the young.

Nope not me, I am way past that phase of my life, I would have to be a glamping girl these days.

Camping especially outdoor is challenging for there are unexpected happening that you've to meet and solve it with a little resources.

I have been camping twice so far this year. Helpful hint next time you go camping and you want to keep the raccoons away. Both of these work well if you can stand the smell, ammonia, take a small rags or rags and soak them in ammonia and place them around the campsite. should keep most animals away. Another trick is pepper solution, take 1/2 gallon water, 2 tbl spoons cayenne pepper, one chopped jalapeno pepper and bring it to a boil then let it sit for about 20 minutes, strain it and put in spray bottles. just before going to sleep spray this around the camp site. Should keep them away for about 24 hours.

Not anymore. During our scouting days particularly every October which we observe as Scouting Month, we go camping outdoors together with scouts and troop leaders.

I haven't been camping in a million years (seems like).
"Some other critters"... werewolves?

anyway, my camping was about 7 years ago? when I was in 6th grade.
