Creating a shower of sparks

I’ve written a few discussions about removing a centre pole from our shed. It’s now done and we’re looking forward to being able to move our caravan in or out of the shed much more easily.
I was telling Jeff (@moffittjc) that when we do these sorts of projects I am the ‘gopher’. I go for this and I go for that. My instructions might include ‘I need a Philips head screw-driver, a small one’ or ‘can you get me the multi-grips’. I know the names of almost all our tools and only occasionally have to resort to asking ‘do you mean the twirly thing that goes in the whatsit?’
Anyway, Jeff suggested that a better title for my important role would be Executive Assistant in Charge of Procurement. This sounds very posh and important so that’s what I’ll be using in future. I can just imagine the look I’ll get from Vince when I tell him my new position.
The photo shows Vince using the angle-grinder to cut loose the pole. He’s creating a very pretty shower of sparks, isn’t he?
And it's MY photo! Yay for me!

Now that you have such an impressive title I may consider applying for Executive Assistant to the Assistant. I heard the pay is good and you get all the stodge you can eat. And as a secondary meal- gruel is on the menu as well. Sounds ideal to me.

@MarymargII Maybe we'll need to get you a human assistant then.

I used to call them ankle grinders when I was younger - they do create amazing spark displays

@arthurchappell I was keeping a close eye on where the sparks were landing and we also had water handy.

@JudyEv 'tis 'lways a good idea. wish more folks 'round these parts'd take that sort'a precaution. they're prone to weldin' fences though'n drought with no water sources nearby outside'f their spit...
yes ma'am, lol. the i.r.s. didn't seem to 'mpressed by such

That is a very long title but a good one. I had to laugh at the look he will give you. Yes, I see him now up there. At first I did not pay attention to a person being up there. I see the sparks and you did a great job on taking the picture. Maybe it will earn you more picture taking and a new title to add to the other one.

I was surprised how far the sparks were going - just about halfway across the shed.
