Twins (boy and girl) were left in the hot car and died

There was a guy in the Bronx (NYC) who had 1-year-old twins (girl and boy) in the back seat of his car and forgot they were there. He parked his car in the parking of his job and went to work. He only realized he left them in the car after he returned to the car after work and drove a few blocks. Being in the hot car for hours with the windows closed they ended up dying. Due to his carelessness his children lost their lives.
This is not the first time something like this has happened where people forgot their kids in the car. How dumb can you be to let something like this happen?

@marguicha The guy was charged for the deaths of the twins and has a lawyer. His wife is on his side.

It's even more tragic because they were way too young.

I would only think it'd be possible if a person was very drunk or very high or both.

Me neither. But there have been many instances where people forgot their kids in the car. Even their pets who also ended up dying from the heat.

Me too. What hell is he thinking why he forgot his kids at the car.

Lots of people have done this. I just don’t know how they do it. They make an expensive car seat now that has an alarm that goes off when they leave a baby in the car. I’ve hard some people leave certain things in there back seat so they don’t forget there kid back there. As crazy mom brain can get I’ve never left my kids in a car in there car seats.

It's not like kids are tiny ants. How can you not notice they are there?

This is so shocking and I'm feeling so bad for losing the little ones. Not sure whom to blame or what to blame. Why on Earth this happens? This is bad!
This surely reminds me to be on grounded state always. When we're excited( due to happiness, misery, sadness, stress, .. ), we tend to forget the things around us. We should experience all those states and return back to normal soon.
The dad must have been on some pressure or stress. He will surely regret for this for his lifetime. 1 minute of stability would have saved his kids.
I'm just praying God that such things shouldn't happen to anyone in the future. It's so awful. Poor babies, what did they do?!

@lovebuglena Yeah, after your discussion, I went through the news in one of the website. That was disheartening to know. We should really pray that the lives is not a victim of our carelessness.

I saw online that he is charged with their deaths and he has a lawyer. His wife still loves him and is on his side. They have three more children. Don't remember 100% but I think they are 4, 9, and 12 years old.

When I heard that story, it was so incomprehensible to me. Makes no sense. I cannot imagine such a thing. What were infants doing in the car in the first place?

Just saw a video online where they say he dropped off his 4-year-old son off at daycare but never took his twins to theirs.

You're right. It's a condemnable act. The father should be punished for that.

One thing that I am pondering about is this... The car was parking in the parking of a VA hospital where he works. If he didn't realize they were in the car, how come no other people passing/driving through the parking lot throughout the day not notice that there were kids in the car?

@lovebuglena He did not because it was not a habit and the stress of his work made him forget that the kids were in the car. His wife is defending him.

I have not yet checked out if there is new info about this story. Was he supposed to drive them to daycare? And if yes, why didn't he?

Too bad for the little angels. I think it's difficult for me accept the reason that he just forgotten the babies there. Are life important than anything else? I don't know the whole circumstance but he should at least prioritize his babies.

According to the article I read online this was an accident. He did not intend for this to happen. But I find it hard to believe that sitting in the driver's seat and looking at the mirror or getting out of the car and looking through the window you will miss someone sitting in the back seat.

So sad! What a careless kind of a father leaving the twin inside his car at the backseat. Didn't he hear the cry of the twin. So bad. He kills his children.

He said it was an accident. Maybe the twins were sleeping so he heard nothing. But how he did not see them in the car is beyond me... How can you miss someone in the back seat?

I know. Even if the kids are sleeping and are not making any sound you should be able to see them in the back seat through the car mirror or through the windows.

No matter what happens to the father, as he is being charged, it won't bring the kids back.
