One of my friends here tells me that there is a fundraiser being done for Patsie Hatley. Details are sketchy.
There are lots of reasons that this is questionable, so do not jump in and donate until I hear from her son.
Why not? you may ask.
First, this is not appropriate or generally allowed on this site. Bugs has made an exception for the family of GoAskAlex.
Secondly, many of us are connected to Robbie Hatley on Facebook. He has not said his mother is living with him. I have a message in to double check, though. It is not likely, I believe he is in government aided housing and would not be allowed to have her move into his one bedroom apartment.
Third, If Patsie, or her son are receiving government assistance private financial contributions could cause them to lose all or part of their help. That would do them no favors at all.
I am prepared to eat my words on this if the son tells me otherwise, but we still go back to item one, it is not allowed on this site.
Stay tuned. As soon as I know something, I will let you know.
@myklj999 is also connected to Robbie and he has not mentioned this.
Thanks for reading.
Okay, Bugs has approved this fundraiser. . . I still would prefer to hear from Robbie or for JJ to hear from him. In the US there are some funny laws about how money may be spent for those who get state assistance. I hope we here from Robbie. If it is an okay deal for them I would love to see it happen, but I am still questioning.

I will add, since I have dealt with nursing homes before, you cannot "just check out!" You have to have a home equipped with the needs of the person, and if you are not a nurse, have one hired to come in and do checks, plus one person is not enough to take on the responsibility of someone deaf and blind, with that you need 3 people, and/or 2-3 shift people. And last, it is not a good idea for her son to be wiping his mothers butt and that is also taken into consideration.
This has to be a fraud. Do not send any money.

I helped my friend take care of a lady in her home. My friend needed time off for her family, so I filled in. There was also another person that filled in sometimes. We all volunteered to help her and it took the three of us working day and night to keep her going. Eventually, her son came from California to collect her and take her back with him.

The person who posted misunderstood Robbie. Not deliberately a fraud. I am sharing a rather long message from him in my next discussion

I think she should run this idea past the admin before doing it. The thing is that if they allow many exceptions to the rule, people would line up to be next. We all know people in need and we can't have the site be a big collection agency. That is just my take on it and I am nobody.

myLotBugs said it would be okay, but I do not think it would help her. No she is not living with Robbie.

That is correct. If people will remember, she lost her SSI for a while because of online earnings and Robbie had to work hard to get it back in place.

@GardenGerty I remember that she had a problem and she was scared and her son had to take care of the matter. Most people do not know that things around the world are not the same for every country. Before proposing solutions and taking decisions, is better to ask.

I think the friend who posted that she was with him lost some information in translation. It was not deliberate misleading. Robbie did respond to me.
