Hello once again....before I go back home from my mom's, I thought I'd share a photograph.
This is another sunflower that Eli planted the seed for last summer....not a velvet queen this time; just an original sunflower. It was still pretty though!
We are still waiting on the ones from this year to grow more and open up. I think we planted them later this year than last year.
Do you like sunflowers? Do you prefer these original style sunflowers...or do you like unique ones better?

@MommyOfEli2013 A couple of mine are good sized now. But still no head on them. I have a few different types planted this year. Hoping soon to see the flowers.

I love sunflowers! We have a farm about 15 minutes north of where I live that grows sunflowers. So it's always really neat driving by there when ll the sunflowers are in bloom. You just see miles of golden yellow when you look out across the fields.

Awesome! Maybe he has a green thumb..none of the sunflowers I have tried to grow ever flourished. I did notice on the way home a field of sunflowers..I never saw them before, I wonder if it is there first try at growing them. They are so cool looking.

Maybe he does! I know his grandparents helped with watering when he couldn't....that field of sunflowers sound nice though! That would be awesome to see!

Thank you! He did seem to last summer....this summer he planted some but then started to fear bugs so doesn't want to take care of them anymore.

@MommyOfEli2013 I used to like to eat sunflower seeds more, but have gotten away from them. My teeth aren't as good as they once were and so they are harder to eat and enjoy. I always ate them, shells and all. lol

I understand, sunflowers can get huge! These were over 5 feet tall! They do come in smaller versions I think...or there is another flower that look like sunflowers but aren't big.
I am not a fan of sunflower seeds myself...so no I don't.

That is cool. Sunflowers are fine. I like to look at flowers. I never planted any so cannot be proud when they come up and say hi.
