Garden Butterflies Make my Day

Was out earlier to freshen the bird bath water. Had my phone in my pocket in case I saw something interesting to take a picture of. And I did. The hot sunshine is bringing more butterflies every day to Dustin's garden.
This swallowtail butterfly is very large. I always love seeing the yellow and the beautiful black ones. This one allowed me to photograph him for several minutes.
The butterfly bush blooms are filled with sweet nectar, he could care less about me. And the blooms smell so good in the garden. I don't blame him for visiting.

@CarolDM I have wondered if it didnt get drowned out the next spring during the heavy rains. But the burning bushes lived.

@CarolDM Have you ordered from FreePrints before? They are a good printing company for a reasonable price. That's who I use to print some photo's. I get size 4x6 to use as samples at the Flea Market in my book-for 10 of them it's $1.99. =)

Beautiful shot. I don't get out in the yard. Sometimes we see a hummingbird by the front window. We used to have a butterfly bush by the kitchen window; but I don't know what happened to it.

@CarolDM Do you have hummingbird feeders? I've seen videos in which people have several feeders and there are a dozen hummingbirds around them. Amazing!

@LindaOHio Yes, I have two. One on the deck and one in the garden. And you should see them on the butterfly bush! But they are so quick, very hard to get photos.
I have seen those videos too and if I did that, I would spend all day washing and filling them all up. I have to get the tripod on the deck to get decent photos. I need to do that early before it gets so hot.

fantastic shot! no doubt yer gardens bring great joy to all the critters 'n thus yerself :) 'tis a win-win, eh? i stalked a few this morn, but the 'nly that sat fer a bit did such'n the bright sunlight. alas, crappy pics (users fault, should'a brought the hood thingy with...sigh...).
