This morning began with staff getting our pictures made for the yearbook and our new ID cards. Then, we all went to the church to have our group photo made on the altar steps. Only, I was in my room and didn't realize the rest of the staff had gone down the hall to the sanctuary. When my watch told me it was time to go, they were all coming back from having the group picture taken. The whole group seemed confused when they saw me walking toward them. My boss asked me if I had been in the picture. I told her I could not believe, me being the only male teacher on staff, that no one had noticed I wasn't there. She turned the whole group around and the picture was retaken with me in the shot. The rest of the morning we spent in a decent session of continuing ed. The speaker was a counselor who started out as a teacher, became a guidance counselor, and then went into private practice. She gave an excellent presentation on how to destress both our students and ourselves in the classroom. We broke for lunch. Our Principal had Olive Garden cater lunch today. They brought a variety of pasta, meats, sauces, several containers of minestrone soup, two huge bowls of salad, and dozens of breadsticks. No one left lunch hungry. This afternoon we worked in our rooms. I still have some neatening up to do but am otherwise ready for Open House. Tomorrow, I'll try to remember to take some pictures of my room and my hallway bulletin board. I hope y'all had a wonderful Tuesday.

Oh, that will be fun to see your school. Our theme this year for the entire building is something to do with growing, so everyone is flower themed.

We're going to do our training days starting Aug. 19. On the docket is starting an entire year of a program called "Teaching for Transformation."

Have they defined the Transformation they are referring to? Our state public schools used to come up with a catchphrase every year.

@DWDavis It's some prepackaged course. We are a Christian school so I assume it has something to do with that. The people who took it last year have to express the Deep Hope for their classroom and the Storyline. Not something I'm much pleased with since I probably know what I'm doing after 38 years.

Our school system starts the 26th. That's terrible they didn't notice was you was missing in the photo. I had a sorta good Tuesday. I didn't do much online work and I listen to three AAFCO meetings.
