Diary 22nd To 26th August 2019

A film festival meeting at the university dominated Thursday 22nd August 2019, preparing for events to take place in March next year, but there is a great deal to do in selecting movies and preparing publicity materials. Friday was a dedicated job searching day and the last chance to visit the community centre before the bank holiday weekend (everything closes on the Monday to come in the UK). As they wouldn't sell before their sell by date everyone here got a free bunch of grapes. Later someone came round with sandwiches that we could take home too, but after we took them in their packages she decided to try to get us to pay for them, so I handed mine back. Without advance notice the centre decided to close early forthe bank holiday weekend. I fortunately went early, but some later arrivals found the centre closed and that they had made a wasted trip. Saturday 24th August - The weather turned unexpectedly beautiful so I went to Blackpool to get more pub sign and local interest photos. I got more in the villages of Wesham and Kirkham on the return journey too. I was very tired when I got home after over ten miles of walking. Sunday was a day to relax and edit the 200 photos I'd taken. Monday, the bank holiday itself (the last before Christmas) was another quiet day, consisting of writing, shopping and taking life easy for me. My mum phoned to wish me a happy weekend, letting me know that her cat, who has a heart condition, was treated for some blood clots in her legs but she has recovered well from the treatment.
