This maybe a true story. There was a rich man who suffered from serious stomach ulcers. He came to a doctor and was diagnosed to live only for 3 months. He was shocked but then he thought it would be useless worrying about his coming death. So, he decided to have a 3 months' journey on a cruise ship and brought with him his coffin. He told the captain of the ship that he died, he wanted to be put in the coffin to be sent to his relatives. During the trip he really enjoyed his time, eating and drinking what ever he wanted. 3 months passed, he was still alive. He wondered why he was still alive. So, after the journey was over, he visited the doctor and asked him why he was not dead. The doctor did a careful examination on his disease. The doctor was surprised as he found no stomach ulcers and declared that the rich man fully recovered and was healthy. Did you ever hear similar story? What made his disease gone for ever? The doctor gave a wrong diagnosis the first time, you do not die for a stomach ulcer, it can be cured with medications.

@cacay1 May be the diagnosis was correct, but saying that he had 3 months left was insane.

I've heard several testimonies of complete recovery from the most serious illnesses and diseases. He probably recovered because he didn't worry about anything and enjoyed what he thought was the end of his life. It shows nobody can really know the end of one's life.

A positive story. Sounds sad at first but it has a happy ending. We can never tell exactly when we will die

I have not heard of such story. Is it possible that the doctor misdiagnosed the rich man?

The doctor was right but the rich man recovered from his illness during his off-burden holiday on a cruise ship.

That's so interesting but I have no idea why that might have happened. Perhaps stress was causing some of his problems and once he stopped worrying, his body repaired itself.

Miracles do happen, I think or the doctor first verdict is wrong. That's why we need another doctor second opinion sometimes...
