I might have spoken too soon - perhaps we do have cyclones here

We have a big storm going on here at the moment – lots of thunder and lightning. After all my talk about us not having cyclones, a town north of us was hit by one yesterday and we’re being warned about similar bad weather tonight. I’m sure it won’t be on the scale of the massive hurricanes some myLotters face but nevertheless, I hope it doesn’t do any damage. The photo is of one of Australia’s species of wattle trees. We have a number of them. The wattle is the floral emblem of Australia. Wildflower season is in full swing here now. Anyway, I do hope you stay safe if you are in the path of the cyclone. I might need to go to bed and hide under the blankets as the lightning is coming in the house.

That's true. I think your hurricanes are much more severe than ours. Stay safe.

We seem to have gotten lucky with this current hurricane (at least for now it), as a few days ago we were in its crosshairs and were the bullseye of where it was going to hit. But the forecast track now has it staying offshore of Florida and turning toward the north before it makes landfall by us.

@JudyEv I hope your heavy rain doesn't cause flooding issues for you! Stay dry.

@JudyEv Besides the obvious--avoiding catastrophic damage from the hurricane--I'm glad the storm is not going to hit us because the flooding would be really bad. We're already flooded from heavy rains all summer long, so any additional rain would have just been too much to handle.

@moffittjc Thanks. No chance of flooding. The worst it could do would be make a bit of a mess of our road into the place.

Not really extreme just different @JudyEv I'm not used to the humidity we've been getting, it's not real high but it's higher than usual.

It's a lovely sunny morning again. There was lots of crashing and banging last night but it's all peaceful again this morning so we were very lucky. One of my friends would explain thunder to her children as God moving his furniture around. :)

It's crazy how the weather is changing in so many areas. We barely had tornadoes here and now have them. I pray you all are safe.
