Cardinal Surprise Visit for Cats

Have always heard if you get a visit from a cardinal, it could be from a lost loved one. Maybe that is true. But in this case, the male cardinal was enjoying the sunflower seeds in the feeder. You can tell the male from the female cardinal very easily. The male has the bright red color, the female a duller color.
Snapped this photo through the front window. My cats alerted me that he was there. I place the feeders close to the windows so I can see them for photos, and for the cats' entertainment. They go from one window to the other, talking to all the birds.
See any birds around you lately? Plans for the weekend?

i'm so thrilled'n a tad envious that'cha got such a brilliant pic 'f this fine fella! no such birds 'round these parts, 'tis been 8yrs since i've been'n the part 'f the country where such'd live.
used to keep feeders closer to the house here 'fore the feral cat 'xplosion. made 't too easy fer 'em to get the birds. seems the kittens 've grown 'nough not to be hangin' out'n the trees so much, so've slowly started puttin' feed out fer 'em.
tried to get lucky 'n catch 2 hummers together. alas', jest blurs, lol. did get some semi-decent shots 'f 'em separate though. my 'nly plans this weekend'd be to stay clear 'f town :)

@CarolDM yes ma'am, truly does. i nearly bought some 'f those hummer feeders that 'ttach to yer window a couple years 'go. glad i didn't, would'a make 't easier fer the herd 'f ferals to catch 'em.
so glad i could share such with ya :) i believe there'd still be 2 males 'n 2 females left here? the females fer certain 's i've gotten some purty good pics 'f 'em to compare. the males? not so much, lol. makes i.d. most diff'cult when they'll not cooperate.

That is a gorgeous shot except for the line..probably from your window frame..If you could edit that out..you might even be able to sell that pic. We always have birds here..There were sparrrows outside the bedroom window this morning in the greenery, much to Nico's delight.

@CarolDM That is true too. Somebody mentioned a site the other day, but I can't remember what it was.
