Time for a fish fry again

My husband caught some Bream and Bass back in the pond, so we're going to fry up those bad boys in a little while. I've got the corn meal and flour ready to fry the corn bread, got the potatoes and onion stewing as I write, but I don't think I'll make sweet tea today. I know, I'm slipping, but I might make a pitcher of lemonade instead. Our kids had to evacuate Charleston ahead of Hurricane Dorian and are at a cabin in the NC mountains. Our son and grandson decided to join them since the schools are closed here anyway. Wish we could be there, but we want to stay home in case we have any flooding or whatever when the storm passes tomorrow. We've got a generator in case we lose power. We had planned to be on our way to Florida today for the cruise out of Jacksonville tomorrow, but we're still hoping we can just get a credit for another cruise. We thought Carnival had agreed to that, but apparently they're still deciding whether to cancel the whole trip or not. Although, I don't see how most people could get there even if the ship can leave port. Oh well. We sure have nothing to complain about when we see the devastation in the Bahamas. We all need to pray for them and help with the recovery in any way we can. I know there will be many organizations and charities that will help, but we know that Samaritan's Purse (a Franklin Graham charity) will do all they can to help.

We're still waiting for their decision. They are now sailing out of Port Canaveral, but how are we supposed to get there in a hurricane? Just stupid.

I hope you stay safe. They shouldn't expect that anyone can get there for the cruise-or would want to go there! I hope you can get credit for another one. =) Absolutely, praying for the Bahamas and all they have lost & are going through. =(

It's so heartbreaking for the people there. And you have nowhere to evacuate to when you're on a island.

A fish fry sounds good. I hope Dorian doesn't cause too much damage. It's done enough for one hurricane I would have thought.

I am happy the Bahammas will be getting some much needed assistance. At least poor Puerto Rico was spared from the devastation this time.
