The Season Has Begun

At last, the long wait is over and football season is back. I'm not a sports fan, so I'm not into baseball, hockey, soccer that most of the world calls football, but I am into American football. Especially when the Packers are playing. And when the Packers play the Bears the oldest rivalry in football, it makes it even more interesting.
Football is now 100 years old and the sportscasters made the most of that fact by dressing in past fashion mode.
I made a collage of the pictures I took from the TV last night.
As for the game, I had my doubts that the Pack would come through with a win with the way it started. Nobody made much ground in the first quarter, though the Bears did make the first and only points in the game with a field goal.
There were lots of penalties on both sides, and I'm sure the coaches have a lot to say to both teams today with their performance on the field last night.
The Pack got on the board in the second and final quarter with a touchdown that looked very easy in the second quarter. It looked like it would tie after our last field goal in the fourth quarter, however, the Pack stopped that with an intercession in the end zone completely shutting down the Bears chances of a tie or win.
The final score was 10-3.
We next take on the Minnesota Vikings at home in Lambeau. Last night's game was at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Did you watch the game? What were your thoughts if you did? Thanks for reading.

Packers fans are a bit of an odd breed in that there is just something about the Packers that no matter where you go you will always find Packers fans. AND many, MANY women are in love with the Packers and enjoy the games as much as the guys do. I am a staunch Packers fan, BUT my wife is the sports nut and SHE is the one who goes nuts over the games in our house. Literally the other day when they were playing against the Bears she came out with a Packer's scarf on her head, a Packers shirt, and lit a candle. She can get very animated during the games.

I don't have a scarf or candle, but I do have the beads, shirt, and cap. I want to get a cheese hat. I used to have a jacket and a hoodie. I lost the hoodie in my move here, and the jacket got a little too worn. I'm still looking for an affordable nice hoodie.

I'm sad that I missed the game, but happy to hear the Packers won! Hopefully it sets the Packers in motion for a great season this year.

The defense was excellent on both sides @just4him . The offense; not so much. I felt bad for Aaron getting sacked 6 times. And I loved Al & Chris in the 'old-timey' outfits.

The Cowboys will be playing the Giants today, so I'll have to see about that one.

@nanette64 I hope the Cowboys do well.
I just checked the schedule and we play the Cowboys in the fifth game, Oct. 6. For that game, I won't be wishing the Cowboys well.

@Hanyouyomi We have an outstanding record. We make the playoffs most years. We also have the most titles of any NFL team. Not Super Bowl titles, we have three of those, but all titles since the game started 100 years ago.

That's true, but I'm willing to bet the Packers have a better record in the past 20 years unlike the Cowboys... _

I watched it...Neither team looked that great last night, although Rodgers made some good throws.

Yes, he did. I'm sure both teams are getting an earful and extra hard workout today.

@just4him Bart Starr was a legend as an extremely, talented quarter back!

Thank you. It was a good game and more nailbiting in the last two minutes than the rest of the game. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Aaron did good when he wasn't being sacked.
