I once tried to reheat fried chicken.

Some years ago, I went to stay in Miami at the house of Dixie´s oldest daughter. She picked me at the airport and left me at her apartment as she had to work. There was fried chicken there and I just had to turn on the over. So I did. I was hungry. The chicken started to "pee" oil as it warmed up. When the chicken pieces were hot, there was a poodle of oil under it. I thought how we usually ate it immediately (so delicious!) and all that oil was part of the chicken. It was gross. I never ate them again. I now cook, grill or roast the chicken I buy raw. I don´t eat breaded and fried chicken. I don´t even want to guess how many calories it has.

I know what you're saying. Fried chicken can be full of oil.

The bread absorbs the oil while frying.

You are right! I also tried to heat the fried chicken in gthe Microwave and I had the same results what you had! There was oil and oil and more of oil in the plate where the pieces of chicken were placed

@marguicha , I can understand that! You were lucky that you had some cookies to consume then!

@AKRao24 I agree. Although I could have peeled it and taken away the bread, it was not appealing.

Baked and grilled is the healthier option. To me chicken is nasty. It takes too long to clean all the fast and veins off it to cook it. My husband wouldn't even touch it for the longest.

@marguicha I just got grossed out when preparing fresh chicken to cook. And then when you are eating it you see all the veins cooked and it is just totally gross. I see now why my husband will only eat the white meat.

You are right, when we fry meat it absorbs that hot oil. Then, we drain it on paper toweling and eat the delicious meat! It is a very unhealthy thing to do

I wrap food in aluminum foil when I reheat, keeps the flavor in.

That is a good idea. But if the food has too much oil to begin with, it is better to take it away.

@marguicha Yes, the oil is not good any way you reheat it, but you can dab it with a paper towel.
