A relaxing and refreshing evening I am having . Today we had some good rains, so I thought of having some hot momos. The momo parlour nearby is closed, so I went to the all purpose snack bar to buy them. Those who don't know, this food was common across the foothills of the Himalayas in our country, but now it is available in almost all cities and big towns in India. It is basically steamed dumplings served with tamarind/ tomato sauce. A hot stew or broth comes complimentary with it. It is not much expensive yet a filling and healthy snack. How's been your weekend going?

That sounds delicious. I haven't tasted that but I hope to do so in the future. Is it a popular dish there? Can it be likened to some Chinese dumplings? What's the filling for it?

Another delicious among the food items... but never know... how to made, as we are not accustomed to prepared at our home.. ... Actually I love momo with soups. In many cities don't give soups but we usually have with soups.. Without soup is incomplete

It is technically a food of the Himalayan settlers who became popular across the country in the last few decades.

@Sojourn Vince went to Nepal but I haven't been. I sometimes put dumplings on top of a stew but they would be a bit different to the ones you're used to. They are made with flour, butter and milk and just placed on top of the stew. Then the lid is put on and you leave them there for 20 minutes.
