Creating a book cover is time consuming

Today I decided to work on the cover for my limerick book Scenes from a Quirky Life. I had two different front cover versions already done. First I worked on the back cover for the first version of the front cover. I didn't want to do one for the second version because I decided I wasn't gonna use that one for the book. Then I decided to do another version (version 3) of the front cover. I changed the background and then decided to change the layout of the title text. Instead of the title text being straight I wanted it in a circular shape. I had no idea how to do it and took a long time to figure it out. I had to break up the title text into two parts to do this - Scenes from a and Quirky Life. No matter what I tried I couldn't get the two texts to be identical in formatting. I didn't like the end result and now I think that having the text straight is the way to go. While I was at it, I decided to look again at the two previous versions of the front cover. Now I think the version I did not want to use (version 2) is the one I like best. So, I created a back cover for this version. Looks like I wasted a lot of time for nothing working on version 3. Let's hope I don't change my mind again.

I can imagine how hard it must be to find (and design) that perfect cover to go with your book. Sometimes I have a hard enough time just finding the right photo to use for a post here on myLot! I wish you the best of luck with your book cover!

That's why I don't bother with photos here. Good thing it is not a requirement.

@lovebuglena Sometimes I like to use photos, and sometimes I don't. Actually, I think the majority of my posts here don't have photos.

@moffittjc Nothing wrong with that. Pretty much all of mine do not.

It's not wasted time if you come up with a design that you eventually like! Kudos for keeping at it. If I can help, let me know! Hugs.

Thanks. I may go back to the one that's more colorful (that has the most green).
