AC (my niece son) had brought a consent paper from school the other day. And it’s about measles and other immunization. I think it’s not only dengue that poses threats among children nowadays in my country with urgency. I think it’s also measles. It is reported that cases of measles remained significantly high. The Department of Health is doing its best and intensifies its drive to control the disease since it is highly contagious cause by a virus. In line with their program, children in public schools will receive a shot of specific vaccine since there are also other vaccines provided to the targeted age group. Only those children with consent from their parents will be given the vaccination and it's free. Photo Credit: pixabay.com

Yes, it is. Allegedly why the rise of cases because more parents were afraid to let their child vaccinated because of the Dengvaxia issue.

We have a number of vaccines that are given free - some at birth or at a young age, some given at school. I don't remember my eldest son's school vaccines but I am sure he had them! The most recent one for us was my youngest son's vaccine at school. I told him that it was up to him if he had the vaccine or not, provided that he read all of the information and could give me a good reason if he chose not to have it. Of course, he did have the vaccine. It did, however, give him a perfect opportunity to research and to understand why these things are important.

@ZedSmart yes, they will do. My son's vaccination had to be put off because they were worried about some spots. Once a doctor confirmed it was just acne, and it cleared up a bit, the vaccine was given.

I think the administering personnel will have a quick assessment to the child even if there is parental consent to make sure that it's safe to give a shot because sometimes, children will have mild cold or cough and this symptoms should be evaluated as well.

That is good to know that it is given for free in public schools. My son is required to have their mandatory vaccines but we have to shoulder the expenses since he attends to a private school. He cannot enroll until there is a certification that he has been vaccinated already.

It's free for public schools and maybe because those learners in private have parents that are capable of paying the vaccines.

It is a pretty long time that vaccinations are mandatory here for kids in school, polio, measles, pertussis, hepatitis A and B. Those are free all kids MUST be vaccinated.

Yes Ms. A. They were administered at the earliest point of life. I think these rounds are just boosters.
