In a wreck a few minutes from home

No, it wasn't me.
I was returning my empty glass to the kitchen when I saw that a family member had returned. It is his birthday and so I wished him a Happy Birthday. He didn't say anything and it was then that I realized he had his phone up to his ear.
He was only a minute or two from the house when he got into a wreck. Everyone involved is fine, and insurance information was exchanged and a cop called to take an incident report.
Now he's having to deal with the insurance company. Not the best day to be getting into a wreck, that's for sure.

I do not think that the wreck was his fault. He hasn't talked a lot about it but I can tell he's frustrated with the situation.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes it is a frustrating matter even if it was or wasn’t his fault because it’s a lot of calling the insurance. Extra trips to the auto shop for quotes and back and forth investigating / information. It’s a hassle depending on insurance company and the other party involved.

@infatuatedbby Yep. I'm not sure what they plan to do. I haven't gone outside to look at the damage. It seems like it's driveable though so they might get the money and use it for something else. We've been talking about a truck lately, so any money got may go towards it.

No, it's not. He spent most of the morning on the phone with insurance companies but hopefully everything is sorted now.

@LadyDuck Yes, and he is still okay with driving. Although he does stay a little further behind cars than he used to. The wreck wasn't his fault.

It would have been horrible if he had been hurt. I don't think he had his phone on him and so we would have had a sherriff arriving at our door.

@shaggin Definitely. I am glad that it didn't happen. I called my aunt and told her and I know her heart skipped a beat. I told her "He was in accident but he was not hurt", I could just hear her intake of breath.

It's been a bit of a back and forth but it seems like things are running smoothly now. There wasn't much structural damage to the vehicle and it still runs without heating up. I was super glad that noone was hurt.

Yeah, he is all sorts of flustered at the moment. I've been giving him his space. We aren't sure how much damage was done to the car. It doesn't look like much, but we're more worried about damage you can't see.

I doubt very seriously if he goes out of the house at all again today. He's finally finished with the insurance people I think.

I think he plans to spend it in front of the t.v., and I can't blame him.
