Yahoo, you are a piece of work!

So... I'm not going to lie. I feel as if Yahoo is doing this intentionally, but first let me explain. I signed up for something recently that required an email address. I used one email address but the website (not affiliated with yahoo) said that I could not use that one. So I used my yahoo account. I can't get into it, and it wants me to reset my password using a phone number that is not valid and never has been valid. I can't get help as the only phone number I can find goes to a paid service. You call said service and the automated voice message says "If you are having trouble signing in the reset the password online." Well, I can't do that. So now I can no longer get into that account. I've locked myself out using all the password combinations and I SWEAR that one of them was my actual password. This is where I think it was intentional. It won't let me enter in an alternate email (which I believe I set up on yahoo for this very case) and the phone number they want to send the password reset steps to isn't valid. GRR! Anyone else have this prblem with yahoo lately?

I set up a more professional sounding email at the beginning of this year. That's where I set it up from. I guess I'll have to set up another one with a different service now.

I always find myself making new emails because i always forget the passwords and when i re-enter a new one it says you can't you an old password like umm what? Lol. I always use the same password for everything but yet "not valid" but then when i try to put a new one using the same password it says can't use an old one like

I use a variation of three different passwords. Each variation has a different number placement or grammatical symbol. I tried every reiteration that I could recall and it eventually locked me out.

@Ladanger See, that is what I was thinking. Atleast on this one. I feel like I'd heard from somewhere else that Yahoo had introduced this new service for saving passwords, but you had to pay for it. I think yahoo is probably trying to cater more towards the business world now. Well the business world can have it. I usually do not have such trouble with recovering a password.

@ScribbledAdNauseum that is crazy. I feel like it does that on purpose.

I have outlook (live) , AOL(my current oldest email provider) and gmail. I can't count yahoo anymore since they wouldn't let me in. I found it very odd that the phone number they wanted to send my verification info to was not valid.

I stopped using Yahoo for this specific reason, time by time they refuse your password and they make a mess.

I felt as if they did this on purpose. They now have a new service that protects your passwords. I didn't look too much into it but it seemed like one of those services that keeps your passwords safe and allows you to log into sites more easily. The cellphone number they wanted to send my verification code to was incorrect. It had never been a phone number of mine.

@LadyDuck Yes. I much prefer to remember my passwords mentally. I have written my passwords in a database before, but not an online database.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Most sites have those user passwords managers that are not as safe as they pretend.

Hope that you do not have any in the future. I tried every password I have and none of them worked.

@CookieMonster46 I have a aol, gmail, and live (outlook / hotmail) account. The yahoo account was fairly new but I hardly logged into it. I use variations of three different passwords and tried each. I mean, it took me forever to get locked out of the account (which I thought was strange) but the phone number they wanted to send a verification code to was not my current phone number. It was also not a phone number I've ever had. Since I just created the yahoo account this year, well my phone number has been the same one for over three years. I just found the whole thing very odd, and yes I did make sure I was on the official yahoo website.

Just make sure that you always remember your password. I honestly feel as if they did this on purpose. I am quite certain that one of the passwords I entered was the correct one, yet they would not let me in.

@Starkinds I'm glad you haven't encountered it. I am beginning to wonder if my account was hacked and the password changed.

I don't like Yahoo mail, and have had issues with them in the past, since I have several internet devices though, I can usually get back into it if there is a problem.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Bummer you aren’t able to access your email even though you’re sure of the pw and the forgot password feature isn’t working properly for you. You could try making that professional username over on aol, Gmail or live. I just use gmail. I used to have yahoo and hotmail emails too.

@ScribbledAdNauseum For gmail, I have many different email addresses and they're not linked. I have to log in seperately.

I have an aol, gmail, and live (outlook / hotmail / msn) email account. The Yahoo was my more professional one. It had my initials and my year of birth as the username.

@Nevena83 I don't know. I think that it's possible they did, but I think we would have read about it on the news somewhere.
