Received a quote from the first hauling contractor. I think it's terribly high; and he wanted to know right away if he got the job. He said he can do it in 3 truckloads (he has a very large truck). It shouldn't be THAT expensive. (Quite a bit over $1,000)
We have another company in mind that will come and take a look. I think you should always have at least two bids so you have some sort of comparison. We shall see when we get the second bid how reasonable the other one was.
The old sump pump is shot; and we had to install another one.
I don't want to complain; but this is a giant pain!

I see this all the time, people let the houses go and it cost to repair them to get a good price, or they sell to me cheap and I take on those problems myself and I have a rental house.

As I said, people have much bigger problems than this; but it's just annoying..and most of this could have been avoided had this been done two years ago. Oh, no. Watching the weather - 88 next Tuesday! Doc says it's going to go from 90 to snow. I hope not! lol

@LindaOHio That is the worst part, knowing it could have been avoided. But that is life sometimes. I really am sorry. I would not be surprised if fall just passed us by.

@CarolDM No need to be sorry, but thanks. The world will keep spinning regardless of our inconveniences! :-D

Sorry you have so many problems and yes, it is always best to get several bids before making a decision

It is always nice if we have second option so we can compare prices and services.

It does sound like quite the pain! Hopefully the other bid is better!
