Today it was the day to vote for the government, we will decide which political party will run Portugal in the next 4 years.
I always vote, it is a right that I don't want to give up, but sometimes I feel that no matter the political party because it seems that they all do the same.
This year we had so many political parties that one should really pay attention, otherwise mistakes are easy to do.
Portugal is slowly emerging from a severe financial crisis that brought to every family economic problems. I just hope the new government will do more and better for this country.

yes ma'am, i vote. 'tis diff'cult here'n the u.s. coz all candidates 're full 'f empty promises - too deep'n the pockets 'f special interest groups. comes to a matter 'f hopefully pickin' the least 'f the evil.
sure hope y'all're able to get such turned 'round. not lookin' good here. i'd not give ya 2 cents fer any 'f those'n the runnin'. what they say'n what they actually do'd be 2 entirely diff'rent monkeys. they jest continue to run's 'nto the ground.

@nela13 would that not be grand? most oft 'tis jest a slap'n the hands. folks've been talkin' impeachment 'f our president fer some years. i think such's a ploy to 'nsure he's re-elected, which i hope'd not be the case.
these corrupt folks ought'a face the highest penalty 's well 's forced to repay the funds they've stolen/squandered.

@crazyhorseladycx All the corrupt should be severely punished, in my country, one ex-prime minister is being judged for corruption and I hope he will be arrested.

OH yes every election. Those who do not vote and complain about the government forego their right to complain. I am shocked to see so many choices on your voting slip!

@nela13 Basically there are three parties and one smaller but slightly significant one but there are also others too who are mostly independents!

@nela13 not when I voted. But I just decided that it's not worth it because we have a committee that puts the person in office. The popular vote doesn't count.

I vote as well, and I agree it never seems to matter who is in office, we the small people rarely benefit.
