Do you take advantage of free shipping when you shop online?

There are sites that offer free shipping to customers. The catch is that you have to buy a certain amount worth of goods to get free shipping. On some sites you have to spend $35+ to get it. On others you have to spend much more.
Of course, people don't want to spend money on shipping so they end up getting more stuff, perhaps stuff they don't really need and can do without, just to meet that minimum. In the end, they end up spending more money and it turns out it would have been cheaper just to pay the darn shipping charge.
I've done this before on a few occasions. But I try not to fall for that these days.

@lovebuglena When I see something that I need to buy, I place in my wishlist, I check time by time and when I have reached the $35 I order.

I buy my items online from Ebay since some of the dealers do offer free shipping on some of their products.

I've never shopped on ebay before. Don't even know how it works. But I heard people place bids on stuff...

Me too. But it's one thing to shop around in stores (online) and finding the site that has what you want that will ship it to you for free or at a cheaper cost. It's another where you have to buy more stuff just to qualify for free shipping. In that case you end up spending more than you would have had you just paid the shipping cost.

@lovebuglena Yup. Very true. I do that with Walmart.com; but it's always something that I use on a regular basis; so it's OK.

If you are not in a rush to get something you can always wait till you need something else being placing the order. That's smart.

If I’m ordering something that I know will be expensive to ship, I’ll look for free shipping but not always on smaller ideas!

Sometimes the shipping costs more than the item itself.

Do you sometimes get what you don't really need just to be eligible for free shipping?

Home come? I prefer to shop in actual stores but if something is cheaper online than in a real store I take advantage of that. Why pay more for an item when you can pay less for it?

That's an interesting thing to do. Hopefully, they agree to get something.
