Surprise in the Garden

Walking around in Dustin's garden this morning and a surprise visitor appeared. There are still blooms on the butterfly bush and the butterflies are still around. The temperatures were 53 this morning. I thought all of the butterflies were gone. Surprise! I was honored with a Monarch butterfly. So excited to see this beauty. I spent about 15 minutes snapping photos and a video of this one. I just read some special information about the October Monarchs. I attached a link if you are interested. Hard to decide which photo to share. I had so many to choose from. Seen anything exciting lately in your world?

Beautiful shot. I saw manarchs back in 1998 when I had a lot of columbine flowers because it was a wet year.

great pic! wonderful ya were able to get so many pics 'n a video, too :) i've seen a few 'round here, but the sun's been too bright'n the pics've turned out quite awful, lol. i think i got a video 'f a lil bird i aint sure 'f the species takin' a bath'n the waterfall. i don't reckon i'd paid much mind to 'em havin' 4 generations a year? interestin' the earlier'uns perish so quickly, whilst the last bunch 'f many months. so, thanks fer that link!

I took about 100! Was out there for awhile earlier. How cool to get a bird video. I had no idea about 4 generations. Interesting.

I love butterflies. I find it interesting to monitor their stages of transforming into a butterfly. That's what I was doing when I was a kid. My neighbor had a tree where butterflies' eggs are abundant on their leaves.
